Falling asleep quickly part deux

If you experienced an extended period of sleep-deprivation while in the military or med-school or what have you and found that you started falling asleep quickly anytime that you had a chance, did you retain that ability? How long did it take for you to acquire that ability? Exactly how sleep-deprived were you for this to start happening? This is a follow-up to this question. [more inside]

15-hour layover in Madrid: tips, advice?

I have a 15-hour layover in Madrid, 10pm-1pm on a Monday night (ouch, but definitely worth it overall in this case). General advice or any personal experience there would be much appreciated! I'm looking for spots in the airport to sit and work on my laptop (ideally even with electrical outlets) and spots for a quick nap or some sleep. I'm fine sleeping in chairs. I'll only have two small pieces of hand luggage. The airport is mostly smoke-free and I need that, so buses into the city probably won't work for me. I've seen this. Thanks!

nodding off while reading.

I've not been able to read books without falling asleep for about the past year, however I can read the same content on my computer just fine. I should note that I normally use my computer at a desk, whereas I don't read books at the desk (because there's not room for the book and the computer on the desk.). I've got to solve this problem, or else I can't study many of the things I'm interested in.

How does thinking of dreams cause sleepiness?

When I wake up, I lie in bed and think. Gradually, I get more awake until I'm ready to get up. But, if I think about the dreams I just had, I get overpoweringly sleepy again.
