You've been seriously sleep-deprived over a period of multiple days, you expect more sleep-deprivation to come, and hurray! you finally have a serendipitous few hours to get some rest. Except that now, for some reason, you can't fall asleep. What to do about it (or instead of it)?

After four days of sleep training our 7 month old, we've had good results for night sleeping, but day time sleep has gotten progressively worse. We are on the verge of giving up on the day time routine, but don't want to stop just before things turn around. Help?

Napmasters assemble! When I take a nap, more often than not I wake up feeling like absolute crap: my head hurts and I feel even more tired than I did before laying down. I try to avoid naps because of this, though I do enjoy the odd siesta. Does anyone have any techniques for executing a pleasant, refreshing nap?

What's the best way to get a good night's sleep? The newspaper I work at recently went to a crazy schedule, so I now work a split shift. My body hates it because it's used to a constant 8 hours a night. How can I trick my brain into being well rested? And what role do powernaps have in all of this?
