I would like to know which program is a really good one to record Skype calls. I have tried some but not sure which one to purchase. Maybe you could recommend a free one.

Asking for a friend: I'm traveling in Hong Kong, near Causeway Bay, for the next few days, and I need to find a place where I can Skype/videoconference with a few people in New York during regular business hours -- meaning, 11pm - midnight, Hong Kong time. [more inside]

(Asking for a friend.) I need to find some sort of software that lets you both record yourself through a webcam (showing the image live in a window on the screen) and (not simultaneously) play a pre-recorded video in the same screen. Ideally it would have very minimalist buttons, or configurable buttons/toolbar. [more inside]

I'm a recent MLIS grad who just scored an interview with a municipal information management office. Unfortunately, the job is 4 hours away and Greyhound can't get me there for a face to face interview before mid afternoon. I plan to ask about interview slots in the late afternoon, but would it be unreasonable to ask about a skype interview if none are available? Other suggestions are also very welcome.

I have this budding (temporarily) long distance relationship where we put a lot of burden on phone calls (and IM and e-mail). Due to numerous factors I will give detail about in the extended, I am looking for cheap short term alternatives to cut down on costs for long distance and would appreciate some advice. [more inside]

My husband and I are visiting Korea soon. Is the famous WiFi in Korea ubiquitous enough to use his iPhone 4 for web browsing and Skype? We're also renting an SKTelecom cellphone, but we'd like to use the iPhone for data-related tasks and travel apps. Is it just a matter of his iPhone jumping on any Wifi network (without incurring any roaming charges)? We're coming from the US (AT&T), and staying in Jeju and Seoul. [more inside]

I have a job interview tomorrow via Skype; it was supposed to be via the company's own internal system, but alas, we have to fall back on Skype. Tips for making me look good? [more inside]

Seeing Up in the Air makes me wonder - Is technology like Cisco WebEx, Skype, broadband connections, etc. causing your company and/or companies you know of to reduce the need for business travel? [more inside]

I will be living in Mumbai for 11 weeks next summer. I have an unlocked iPhone 3G. What is my best bet in terms of carrier and plan for the cheapest and most reliable data access? I plan to do local calls over the cell phone voice network and international calls via Skype on the iPhone.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there. I'm living in Montreal and just got an Android-based phone (HTC Dream) through Rogers. I'm trying to use Skype Lite, which would be like a dream come true...if it worked. Help, please! [more inside]

My boyfriend Skype-IMed his mother a very dirty greeting that was meant for me. It still shows the circling icon that I think happens when you try to send a user a message when the user does not have Skype running at the time. Is there any way to delete this before she gets it? He's freaking out, as you would too, if I told you what he just told his mother.

I've just upgraded a G5 tower from 10.2.x to 10.5.7. The upgrade went off without a hitch... but... i do have a problem using my Logitech USB 350 headset with the system now. When making a call with Skype, for example, the headset will typically work for a while (several minutes) before suddenly throwing out massive amounts of horrible noise via the mike channel. When this happens, I can hear the other side of the conversation just fine, they however can't hear anything except an aneurysm-inducing noise. If I hang-up and restart the connection, the game repeats. Sometime the noise sets in sooner, sometimes later - however, it always sets in. Facts: 1.)
This headset worked without a hitch before the upgrade (from 10.2.x). 2.) Audio settings on a system level and within Skype are correct. Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on and what might remedy the situation?
