I have a phone screen later this morning. The recruiter just emailed me "I thought to make you aware he has a slight stutter however he is still perfectly understandable." My understanding is that stuttering has in part something to do with confidence and comfort. How can help the candidate here? [more inside]

I look very ugly in webcam, but I have a Skype interview tomorrow.
I'm frustrated. Id rather go to a face to face interview. At least I look normal in mirror.
Can anyone give any practical advice for Skype interview? How can I look better instead of like a criminal?
Thanks. [more inside]

What technology and software I should look at inorder to be able to record interviews on Skype on to my hard disk (MacBook Pro) and then be able to manipulate the recording easily in order to type out a transcript? Or, preferably , find reliable speech recognition software that will automatically produce a written transcript I can enter into my word processing program (Open Office.) ? I'm willing to change up software and able to spend no more than $100 to make this work. Is it possible?

I'm a recent MLIS grad who just scored an interview with a municipal information management office. Unfortunately, the job is 4 hours away and Greyhound can't get me there for a face to face interview before mid afternoon. I plan to ask about interview slots in the late afternoon, but would it be unreasonable to ask about a skype interview if none are available? Other suggestions are also very welcome.

I have a job interview tomorrow via Skype; it was supposed to be via the company's own internal system, but alas, we have to fall back on Skype. Tips for making me look good? [more inside]

I've been asked to do a video conference job interview via Skype. Telephone interview has been offered as an option, but I think video might be in my favor if
I can do it professionally. Never done video conferencing before, though, and there are a number of factors to consider. Help me weigh my options! (general tips also welcome) [more inside]
