At the age of 37, she realized why the hell didn't I wear sunscreen?

I am a late thirties, fair-skinned, outdoorsy, sunscreen-shunning person who now has the face to show it. Assuming from now on I don't smoke (quit several years ago), wear hats and/or sunscreen, will the accelerated aging of the skin on my face slow down to a normal rate? [more inside]

Botox me?

I have a wrinkle (or whatever this particular skin condition is called) that is very similar in position and depth to this one on Ethan Hawke (mine doesn't go up that high but curves a little bit at the top). I'm trying to educate myself a bit before I consult with a dermatologist so that I can be an informed patient. Does anyone know if this is treatable with Botox? Are there any other effective treatments?

My skin has decided to start hating me

Facewart Funtime

I have a little wart on my face next to my nose. It's only pimple-sized but has been there for almost a year or so and won't quit on its own. It's not very noticeable but I want to get rid of it and as far as I know freeze-burning in the fastest way to get these things off. But sometimes they are stubborn and need multiple hits of the nitrogen gun. Will doing this freeze-burning thing leave me with noticeable marks on my face the next day, or even scars?

Can I do anything with pig skin after slow-cooking it?

I made some delicious slow-cooker pulled pork using this chow.com recipe. I cooked the pork shoulder with the skin on, believing it to add flavour. After cooking, it came right off, along with a thick layer of fat. I've looked up pork scratching recipes, but none of them take into account that I cooked it for 8 hours beforehand. I'd like to do something useful with it, but I'm not sure what. Is it destined for my tummy or the bin?

Can this Pork Knuckle be Saved?

I purchased a rotisserie roasted pork knuckle at the Farmer's Market yesterday. I unfortunately neglected to pay attention to the prep instructions on the scribbled note at the stand. When I got home, I got out the slow cooker and started throwing stuff in...the meat and knuckle bone, a ham hock that I had stored in the freezer, a bunch of shredded carrots, cabbage, a cut up onion, 2 cut up apples, some seasoning, and a beer poured over the whole thing. I left it slow cooking for about 8 hours, then on warm overnight. When I got up this morning, the slow cooker was off and it was room temperature. Two questions: 1. is it safe to eat? 2. It doesn't really seem edible in it's current state. There's not a lot of liquid but what there is is mostly fat. It smells good but looks like a mushy mess. Is it salvageable for any purpose? Can I do something else to it to make it a broth base? Bonus question: I pulled the crispy skin off and stuck it in the refrigerator separately. Suggestions on what to do with that?

My ass, it's sore.

How can I treat a minor pressure sore on the right side of my butt, right where the bone is? I sit all day and all night...I do exercise every other day and I do try to relieve direct pressure by laying on the floor and playing with the dog at night. However, at least 12 hours a day of sitting/working in front of a computer trumps all that. I have good office chairs but the one at work (which would take an act of congress to replace) has bottomed out. Guess I'm looking for a several things to do...gel cushion options if any discreet ones are out there, topical treatments, whatever anyone may have found that works.
