This is my cat, Daisy. She produces little clumps of matter in her fur. Her veterinarian is stumped, so I’m asking the Hive Mind for help. [more inside]
My cat has a few small, uninfected scratches on bridge of its nose. I have washed gently with warm water and a cloth, but am wondering if anyone can recommend something simple I can apply to promote healing? Could be an over the counter ointment made for the purpose or something I have at home like olive oil, jojoba oil, or aloe, but I don't really want anything medicated. YANMvet but, cat parents, what have you used?
Yesterday we noticed this hairless patch on The Grey Lady Jane Grey's ear. What could it be, and how do we treat it? [more inside]
One of the kittens we're fostering has developed a weird hard nodule thing on one of his front elbows. What is it, is it bad, will he die? Pics and more inside. [more inside]
I've got a problematic cat. She's a stray. I've had her for 8 years now, and we estimate she was about 4 months old when she decided to join me. There are 4 main problems: the persistent washing (till she bleeds); the crapping on the floor; the moving of socks and other small items around the house; and the general neediness. The vet is out of ideas. I have this naive hope that there will be a solution (ah, your cat has "Needywashingcrappersock syndrome, ms handee"). But I'm running out of patience (and cash). So it is time to Ask Metafilter. Anyone got any ideas? [more inside]
