My daughter just turned 3 and is ready to learn to downhill ski. We live in Norwich, VT, and can head west to Vermont or east to New Hampshire for beginner lessons. I'm fine sitting and watching while she learns, and we're fine with the lesson being the only reason to make a drive. If we can only choose one place for the first ski lesson, where should we go?
I want to ski on this Sunday, likely either in Stowe or Killington. Help me find out if the conditions are worth the drive! [more inside]
What's the deal with cheap and abundant ski lift ticket vouchers? [more inside]
Anyone know of any Vermont ski resort bus trips that leave from New Jersey? [more inside]
I'm heading out to Killington, VT early tomorrow morning for a day and a half of skifun. I've been skiing on my old K2 210 straight sticks since 1995, and have decided to leave them at home this time and finally enter the world of shaped skis. Can anyone recommend a good rental ski shop between Bangor and Killington? This includes Augusta, Portland, Portsmouth, Manchester, Concord, and Hanover. As it will be my first time on the curvy things and is a short trip, I'm just looking for a good value. Renting on the mountain is a last resort.
