3 coworkers want to plan a 4-5 day ski trip, probably to Colorado, in mid-to-late March. Convenience is key (we want to spend more time skiing and less time traveling), budget is roughly $1,000-$2,000 (including airfare, transit, lodging, ski/board+boot rentals, and lift tickets). Where do we go? [more inside]

I'm going to get lessons to ski or snowboard for my very first time. This will be at Windham Mountain
Either looks like fun. If I have to pick one for my first outing on this mountain, and with this mountain's beginner classes, and this season's snow, which should I choose? [more inside]

Does anybody use walkie talkies when skiing or snowboarding in a group? How well does it work? Any purchase recommendations?

Does it exist yet? - A ski boot for super wide feet that uses snowboard boot type material on the outside part of the foot, but is hard plastic otherwise? (I have a wide foot and only snowboard boots are comfortable for me) [more inside]

I was up in the mountains this morning and got curious about avalanches. Specifically: has anyone skied (or ridden) post-avalanche snow? Does it act like powder, hard-pack, or something totally different? Bonus points if anyone's done this in the Tahoe area.

I'm looking for a resort in Tahoe that has both (a) good beginner snowboarding trails and (b) snowshoe trails. Nice to haves: group snowshoe outings and snowshoe rentals.

Where’s the best place to book an all-inclusive ski vacation? Where’s a good powder accessible condo with a view/hottub? [more inside]

I want to get in to snowboard/ski photography. I'm new to DSLRs, but have a good eye and lots of time. I have a Nikon D40 and want to spend about $1200 on good glass. What do I buy? Filter recommendations? Any tips for shooting in the snow?

Tuning my snowboard:
I just got a Burton File Guide Kit to tune the edges of my snowboard. I am pretty sure i understand it; but just in case, does anyone know where to find directions for installing the files into the handpeice?
