I am considering writing a novel/story that involves the idea of people living among us who are somewhere between three and eight inches tall, but I don't know enough about the physics of sound to know if normal height humans would be able to speak to these tiny people. Would their voices be too high-pitched to hear at all, or just very difficult to understand? Would our voices be understandable to them?

I have a 24x40 poster that I would like to stick in a frame. I am reluctant to go to our local custom framing shop, because while they do very nice work, the price is usually in the >$100 range, which is more than I can spend right now. I've done some searching online, and haven't found great results, plus it is hard for me to assess the good vs. bad websites to purchase. Any recommendations on where I can get this size frame (or another size that my poster would look okay in - does not need to be super professional-looking), hopefully for less than $50? I can swing by a store like Target, but don't want to get into anything too complicated like looking at flea markets.

I've shaped up and lost a number of inches, mostly in the hip area. Yay. But now my sweaters that otherwise still fit are baggy at the bottom. For some reason, the bagginess is most pronounced in the back and they look awful. Is there a way, short of putting the inches back on, to make them more form-fitting at the bottom?

Earlier this year I bought my wife a used
54cm Cannondale Six13 Feminine 3 Compact via Craigslist. It was in mint condition and I basically bought for a small fraction of the retail price - the lady who was selling it got it as a gift from her ex-boyfriend and just wanted to get rid of it. However, I misjudged my wife's frame size - she should be riding a smaller bike. Being that this bike has great components, I have decided to replace the frame. Help me do it!

Too tiny! Too tall! Too deep! Is there a Goldilocks fridge out there that is just right? I need a counter-depth fridge (with freezer, top or bottom) that really is counter depth -- 24-25 inches at the most with door and handle -- without being more than 32 inches wide. Many so-called "counter-depth" fridges I've seen are 29-30 inches deep once the door and handles are included, and even when I find one the right depth, it's very wide, typically 35-36 inches. The best match I've found so far is the
LG 349, but it's a full six inches narrower than my current (awkward, too deep) fridge, and
the slightly larger version I've seen at a store still seems toy-sized and flimsy inside, while being a little too tall for me at 74 inches. I'm in Canada (Toronto, to be precise).

Can someone please tell me how to find the size of my iPhoto and iTunes files? I go into Library, find iPhoto and iTunes and then find bunch of subfiles, divided by date; but they don't seem to include all the pictures and songs. How can I print 34 lines of text so that it takes up exactly 6.125 inches?
Or equivalently, so that each line is .18 inches. I tried different fonts in various word processors but always ended up a little to large or too small. There's probably an obvious way to do this using some easily available software (preferably free) but I can't seem to figure out what it is.
