Migraine Doc in Chicago

Hello, I am a long time allergy and asthma sufferer in Chicago. Recently this summer, I have been experiencing major headaches as the weather shifts dramatically. I have an ENT who has been working with me closely, but this is going beyond their area of expertise, as my sinuses, Eustachian, and nasal passages are clear. He thinks the problem/swelling is originating from above my sinus passages. (Sorry for TMI.) [more inside]

What can I do about this constant sinus discomfort?

You are not my doctor, but I won't be able to see him for a few weeks and you might have some helpful sinus-related advice and tips that could really help me out. Long and slightly gross details inside. [more inside]

My eyes are going to pop out of my head.... thank you Spring!

Hello fellow Metafilterians, now that allergy season is upon us, does anyone recommend the best OTC med for: pressure on the eyes, chest congestion, stuffy nose, and sore throat? It's much worse in the morning. Coughing up yellow awfulness (sorry, gross). Claritin and Mucinex-D do NOT work. Sudafed works like a charm but knocks me out, literally for 2 days. Not sure what's out there, haven't had allergies in a couple of years.

What risks are involved with taking more pseudoephedrine if the first dose didn't last anywhere near 24 hours?

The warnings on the Wal-Itin D box say "do not take more than once every 24 hours." Most medications warn against taking more than X every Y hours, but they are usually hedging their bets. Is this kind of medication different, and, if it is, can I take something else that might help without worrying about contraindication? (Sinuses-want-me-dead information inside) [more inside]

"Mr Burns, you have every disease there is!" "So I can't get worse, I'm invincible!"

Can you help narrow down what sort(s) of doctor(s) to see and what to investigate, given these symptoms? All symptoms have cropped up within the last two years. Before that, I felt healthy most of the time. Primary care doc has been little help, and most of the specialists seem to focus only on the symptoms within their own areas of expertise. [more inside]
