I'm reading Ray Kurzweil's "The Singularity is Near" and would like to know more about the discussion around this book and his ideas. What do people who work with these things – biotech or the computer research – think of him? Is Kurzweil stealing the limelight from other, perhaps lesser known, but more interesting/influential people? Are there any critics I should be aware of (I've found Theodore Modis)? [more inside]
