We are going to have a big campfire singalong next weekend with a group of very awesome musicians. We want to have a few songbooks available so everyone can play and sing along.
Our vibe is 70s/80s/90s pop tunes. Surely someone has made a songbook of these songs and posted them on the internet. Can you please help us find it? Our google searches have turned up nothing pre-made. We know about Rise Up Singing, not really our jam (plus not freely downloadable, which we would prefer.) Thank you for your help! [more inside]

I'm desperately shy about my singing. I really want to be able to sing in front of other people. When I'm alone, I have a versatile, powerful, emotive voice. In front of humans, or even when I hit the record button, my voice breaks up, drops to a whisper and becomes atonal. I hate this. Even singing happy birthday with other people makes me crazy. I love to sing, and I'm envious of people who can do it so comfortable in front of others. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Our group is a charitable/educational one. We do not charge admission to our meetings, but do pass a hat to collect donations to cover expenses. We'd like to sing a popular song or 2 as a group, with several members providing musical accompaniment. We certainly don't want to violate copyright. Are we expected to get permission or pay the copyright holders? Please provide cites/links; thanks!

Do you know any albums or artists that heavily feature very young voices done in a serious matter? Something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dok4wJ4pqo0 [more inside]

Jazzfilter: I'm looking for the Ella Fitzgerald concert with this
version of "Mr. Paganini (If You Can't Sing It)" on it. Unfortunately, her discography says the concert (02/18/1961 at Concertgebou, Amsterdam) was never issued. Does anyone know where I can find this record?

I am a big fan of theater of all types and it one day occurred to me while I was watching an opera that at least some of my enjoyment comes from the fact that opera is very organic; opera singers sing without wearing microphones, they just project. I recently saw the Sacramento Opera performance of Tosca and during a scene in the first act between Mario and Floria they are very close while singing with such great projection. My question is, how do they do this with out hurting or even damaging the hearing of the person near them?

Jazz/Blues voice teachers in the Baltimore area. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a little bit of classical voice training, but even my voice teacher from Peabody admits my voice is better suited towards the jazz and blues side of things. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any teacher suggestions. Do you?

I am a bad singer, although I really like to sing; we are talking William Hung levels of badness. Are there any good books or online resources? Is it worth it to get voice lessons if I just want to not embarrass myself at church and at karaoke? And just how much singing talent is inborn?

I wore out my cassette from "Sweden's Oldest Male Choir", Par Bricole
years ago. Does anyone know how I might get another one? I can't read Swedish!
