My step mom's friend has very generously offered to host my baby shower. So sweet and yay! Except... I've always sort of hated attending baby showers and I in general find them boring and socially awkward (hey people, come on over so I can feed you some sweets, just be sure to bring a really expensive crib with you). My fiancee and I moved into an amazing apartment which has everything we wanted...except a bathtub. The shower is porn-worthy: 2 shower heads, a big window looking over the city, and even a fully-tiled cubby with a step up...and it's 6 feet by 5 feet. The cubby is about 3 feet by 2 feet.

My tiled shower walls are water permeable, and it is messing up the adjacent drywall. Two tile guys agree - is a design issue, and re-grouting will not fix. Would cost a small fortune to fix right. I am redoing bathroom in five years or so, but for now, I need cheap waterproofness. What can I do to my walls that will keep water out?

Hack my hygiene! Yesterday I fell, hard, and broke 3 fingers on my left hand. (It's now wrapped in a stiff splint, with only my index finger and thumb operative, waiting to see the doc this week). I also have large abrasions above and below my left eye. How the heck am I supposed to shower, wash my hair, &c. without use of both hands? Complications inside.

I have a new baby and taking a nice long shower is now a thing of the past. I've been using my husband's Pert Shampoo+Conditioner but it makes my hair feel dry and doesn't de-tangle well. Is there a combined shampoo+conditioner product that will actually make my hair feel nice after I use it? Bonus points for hypoallergenic or fragrance free.

My shower (an in-stall water heater) sometimes smells like something rubber is burning. It's a strong acrid smell that I only notice while in the shower and usually only after a sweaty workout. There is no sign of smoke like you would expect with burning rubber. Is this just some sort of weird sweat and treated water chemical reaction? Anybody heard of something like this?
