What song is this playing at the end of the video? What's the song playing at the end of the video? Credits say composed by Howard Shore but I don't want to sift through his whole catalog to find it. Thanks!
Vacationing checklist

Packing for a trip to the NJ Shore. Do you have a check list you use when you take a family vacation in a rented house/condo? more inside.... We rented a house and now I need to think of EVERYTHING we might need there. We're going Aug 1 - Aug 8. I have a husband, baby and a 13 year old. We're staying with other family (FIL, MIL, BIL, SIL (where "IL" is In Law)). Normally MIL packs everything, but this year FIL is very sick and going through chemo/radiation treatment for esophageal cancer at hospital 2 hours away in Philly. I volunteered to work with SIL to bring all that is needed for the week. I've never done this before and feel some pressure not to forget anything.

Do you have a checklist to share or any tips for me to use? Emphasis is on food stuffs, but remember we can buy things down there (Jersey veg and fruit). Bonus points for thoughtful things to bring for FIL.

New Jersey-Filter: Two questions. First, can you recommend any great B&Bs in Monmouth County? Second, if you had the aim of introducing two close friends to summer in the Garden State, with the ulterior motive of disabusing them of anti-Jersey stereotypes, where would you take them and what would you do?

Help me get to the beach this weekend!

Where should I look to find a last-minute warm weather getaway on the (relatively) cheap for this weekend? A friend and I have had it up to here with the Northeastern US and want to go somewhere warm with a beach this wekeend (Fri-Sun). We hope to pay $500/person for flight & hotel if possible for three nights. Any ideas? We've checked LastMinute.com but I'm wondering if there are better sites that I might not know about. Thanks!

Quiet NJ Beaches

What are the quietest, least crowded public beaches within an hour and a half drive of Princeton, NJ? This is going to be a bustling weekend at the Jersey shore, and I am hoping to hit the beach but avoid the crowds.

Byke March 2001

[ChicagoFilter] I am going to attempt to bike to work, which means biking along the lake from Andersonville to the Navy Pier area. Any tips? I haven't biked in 10 years, and don't want to be killed by racing pros. I want to get into this bike commuting thing, for health reasons and because it's fun. I'm just about to get a nice, comfy bike for the trip -- and will be biking from roughly the middle of Andersonville to Navy Pier. Is it a straight path down? How long do you think this will take? Are there any bike etiquette things I should be aware of? General as well as specific tips are most welcome. :)

Anyone know anything about the Eastern Shore of Maryland or southern Delaware?

Anyone know anything about the Eastern Shore of Maryland or southern Delaware area? My wife and I are relocating in six months around the area of Salisbury, Maryland or southern Delaware. While we have found all of the usual government sites on the area that make it sound like heaven on earth, we really want to hear from people who have been there or who live in the area. We hope to get any and all information about the area and Mefites are the only people I trust on the web:

Info Needed About:
*People/Culture—Will we be accepted by the locals if we are friendly? Will we never be able to fully connect?

*Maryland taxes—are they high? Cheaper to live in Delaware? Is there a commuting tax penalty?

*Areas with low crime near Salisbury (30-60 min commute o.k.) Any info on drug/gang activity? What towns should I avoid?

*Things to watch for if I’m buying a house there (Flooding? Strange molds? Etc…)

*General year round weather?

*Private/Public Schools in the area where I might enjoy employment as a teacher? Ones that I should run from?

*Any other information that you think a transplant might find useful.

Thanks, everyone. If I can’t count on you, I can’t count on anyone!

Beach? Coast? Shore? Also: is Puget Sound part of the ocean?

Waterfilter (heh) — so, I have a couple of water-related questions born of a drunken debate among friends. First: what is the difference between a coast, a beach, and a shore? Second: is Puget Sound part of the Pacific Ocean, an entirely separate body, or some freakish combination of the two? Finally: when Seattleites go down to the Sound, are they going to the coast, the beach, the shore, or something else? Most of us agree that "shore" is the East Coast term for what we West Coast people call a coast. (Except then why don't Eastcoasters say "East Shore" and "West Shore"?) Maybe "shore" is actually East Coast for beach? What's the difference?

As for Puget Sound: I maintained — steadfastly in my drunken state — that the Sound was not a part of the Pacific Ocean, but rather some entirely separate body of water that opened onto it. Days later, and sober, I can't recall my exact reasoning, but it still feels right. Is it? Doesn't the sound contain brackish water? Brackish, to me, is not equal to oceanic.

This all started when one of my friends said she had gone to the coast while in Seattle. I was confused (and would have been even while sober), and thought she had driven to the coast, as in along the Pacific Ocean. But no, she meant they'd gone down along the Sound someplace. Does the Puget Sound have a coast?
