What tech specs are most essential for working remotely via Citrix? Longtime Mac user here, have never bought a Windows machine. I need to buy a laptop to work remotely for my job (paralegal at a mid-size law firm). I will be logged into my Firm's network, and running a variety of software programs off Citrix (iManage Desksite, Filesurf, Word, Hotdocs template manager, Adobe Professional, etc). What key features should I be looking for? Is 8GB of RAM enough? Recommendations for specific brand names are also welcome.

I am addicted to buying clothes online. Every time there's a sale for anything (15% off, free shipping etc.), I feel compelled to take advantage of it and buy whatever I want. I rationalize my behavior, thinking "oh, I'm saving myself money in the long run by buying these clothes now, rather than later when there's no sale." Or I'll say, "If I don't buy it now, they'll run out of stock, and then I won't have this beautiful item."
What can I do, say to myself, or change in my behavior, to prevent my online shopping sprees? If you see an item you like online that's just a convenient click away from being yours, what is the checklist you go through, mentally, before deciding to purchase/not purchase it? How do you keep your clothing budget under control?

Angelenos who ride the Red Line: What are your favorite stops and why? Which ones are the best in terms of being within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc? I just moved into an apartment two blocks from the Vermont/Wilshire stop, and would like to take full advantage of the Metro rail system - especially the Red Line. I'm originally from Pasadena, so I've already seen everything over there. I also have a car, but would like to avoid the urban gauntlet of LA's streets as much as possible.

this NYT article, it says "...Wal-Mart's $312 billion in sales last year exceeded the sales of the next five biggest retailers combined." How can I find out who those five big retailers are and how much they made? Are these rankings based on U.S. sales, or worldwide + U.S.? Googling gives me data for 2004, but I can't find anything for 2005.
