Help me be a better videophile: We're shopping for our first HDTV, and (like most folks, I guess) I'm cheap but want to hold a firm line on quality. But I went to Best Buy and looked at their Wall o' TVs -- all playing the same promo reel, each displaying a different shade of green when a perfect green color field appeared -- and realized I need to be able to rely on something other than my eyes. I'm the co-creator of a new party game and my co-creators and I are stationed out of Madison. We've been invited to demo the game by an enthusiastic game store owner a few towns away, and so we've been wondering whether it makes sense to arrange a tour of the area metropolises (Minneapolis, Milwaukee, maybe Chicago). We're ramping up to the Christmas shopping season, and the game is going to start appearing at Barnes & Nobles soon, so on the one hand it seems like if we arrange something in advance with a store and simply show up there on the scheduled weekend, there's going to be a crowd, and we can try to attract shoppers' attention. But we can also perceive such a tour where we've planned it terribly, there's no store traffic and we've squandered our time and money. So: How to plan such a trip? [more inside]
My sister has come into some bulk items that she thinks she can sell at a profit on eBay. Are there any good primers out there about starting a quasi-small business like this on eBay? She has basically no eBay experience.
