Please help me navigate all aspects of the dreaded pit of death and money that is wedding dress shopping. Difficulty level: eating disorder history [more inside]
I am trying to help a relative find a dress for her daughter's wedding, a dress that has very specific parameters. Where do the awesome ladies in their 70's shop for special occasion outfits that are, as my relative puts it, "suitable for someone over the age of 20"? [more inside]
I'm going to be in my best friend's wedding this fall, and I get to pick my own dress. It needs to be a neutral color (blush/nude/champagne tones are all okay), and either floor length or tea length. I've found two dresses that I really like, but both have small things that take them out of the running. I'd love to find a dress that is similar to either of them. [more inside]
I recently got engaged, and am so happy about this! But, I am not the type of girl who always dreamed about what my wedding would be like...basically, I'm more of a casual-type person who is not super into party planning (nor is the hubby-to-be). :) I feel like we need some help in figuring out how to make this wedding happen, but I don't want to get sucked into all the wedding industry stuff...we are not rich, and to the extent we will want to spend money on this, it is probably not on things like ridiculously expensive flower arrangements. So, two questions: [more inside]
Where can I buy pens in Sydney, and/or who has a wide variety of pens (gel pens, paint pens, that sort of thing)? I am working on my sister's wedding invitations and am rather pressed for time... I am especially interested in the Sakura Souffle pens, if you know of anyone who carries them. [more inside]
I know that "nice" and "cheap" are mutually exclusive in the world of suit buying, but my fiance has put off purchasing his wedding suit till the last minute and we're sort of broke. [more inside]

I will be shopping for a bridesmaid dress in the very near future. I want to try dresses on in person before I buy. I'll likely be shopping alone, and although I have a general idea of what styles and colors to look for, I'll have to make the final decision myself. I've never been in a bridal shop and am concerned about pushy salespeople and upsells. What do I need to know, and how can I make this as hassle-free as possible? [more inside]
Where should my bridesmaids and I go for dressy shoe shopping in Seattle, besides Nordstrom? The girls want to find some silver shoes, pumps or peeptoes, heels not super high, and under $200. Local/indie/boutique stores are especially good.
My boyfriend and I are getting a civil union (yay!). I need a dress (ugh). This should be easy; I live in Manhattan. [more inside]
This dress is absolutely stunning, but it appears to have gone 'out of print' a few years ago at J.Crew. Does anyone know of a similar one anywhere out in the cosmos? I'm aiming for a size 4, 6 or 8.
Please help me find a red dress for my wedding day! I am looking for any online stores that sell ethnic or peasant-style clothes in plus sizes and I am running out of time. [more inside]
