I'm a fat woman (US sizes like 26-28 at the moment), newishly arrived to Washington DC. Where can I buy some clothes my size, in a brick-and-mortar store where I can try them on, and if possible that's near public transportation? My job involves some physical work and can get a bit dusty/dirty; I tend to wear jeans or cords, and a button shirt with the sleeves rolled up. [more inside]

I've just moved to Boulder from NYC and I'm looking for an experienced, no-frills men's barber that can handle a classic tapered haircut. I have had great Russian barbers in NYC but this is CO, and I can't find much. Looking for a barber that can handle an all scissors cut and one that is relegated to guard clippers. I'm willing to travel to a nearby area but would prefer not having to make the trip to Denver.

I have an .pdf image that includes railroad tracks. With an old version of Paint Shop Pro, I want to remove just the railroad tracks and then, using a .pdf to .dxf or .dwg converter, I want to make it black and white and scalable. How can I use my version of PSP cut out the image I want? Is there anything else I need to know?

I placed an order on The Body Shop's website on Dec. 1 for cyber monday. There was some issue with shipping (where the courier company was given insufficient information, and never delivered and instead returned the package), and I never got the package that I had paid for.
I have called, emailed, and tried numerous time to get in touch with a customer service person. I was on hold for more than half an hour each time, and no representative ever responded to my email. I am infuriated now-- they charged my credit card.
What options do I have at this point? What can I do? I want either a refund or my order. I don't care which. [more inside]

My friend has this woven throw blanket with cats on it
that she's had since she was a little kid (ie 1994 or so). It's getting sort of threadbare now and I would really like to find the exact same blanket and give it to her for Christmas this year, but I have no idea what kind of blanket it is nor do I know who might have made hers. I figure it's either super rare, or crazy ubiquitous, but "cat woven throw" yields weird results on Google. Better leads needed, please!

I've just inherited a really gorgeous, old, very high-quality set of pearls from a family member. In addition to making sure they don't need to be restrung so that I don't accidentally break them, I'd actually like to see about breaking the set apart. Because they have strong sentimental value to many of the women in my family, if I could find a large enough quantity of identical pearls, I'd like to have my one set split into two or three sets to give to other family members, each containing some of the original pearls from my necklace. So my question is, who is the best jeweler in the DC metro area to find out whether such a project is feasible? Cost is not really a factor, at least not at this stage of the process. Thanks!

. The problem is that they only ship to US. Do you know of a shop that will ship to Europe or a similar European online shop?

Long ago I found a British online shop selling cool "science toys". It had things like
aerogel, although I'm not sure if it actually sold aerogel. One thing I specifically remember is a "trick pen" where it looked like there was no way for the button on the top to do anything, and the centre section was 4 thin metal rods. The rods were actually hollow and contained a wire that transmitted the force. Help me find it again! [more inside]

I've had a Canon 5D Mark II for about 2.5 years, and I've recently noticed some bad dust particle issues that are on the sensor or mirror, not the lens. Can someone recommend a good camera store in New York City that could do a good professional job of cleaning my sensor (and an idea of how much this will cost)? I've looked into cleaning kits, and I think I would rather have a professional do it. Thanks! [more inside]
