Do you have any recommendations for a somewhat stylish but not-quite-formal dress shoe I can wear to work with slacks or khakis and a button-down shirt? I'm pretty butch and usually wear a leather loafer in a men's size 7.5 / women's size 9. [more inside]
I love my minimalist shoes, but a few years ago I attempted to run in them and ended up with capsulitis in the joints in the ball of my left foot. Here I am a few years later and I want to try running again. Difficulty level: female, with wide feet. [more inside]
Help me find a better soft arch support! I have been using Dr. Scholl's For Her arch supports in my work flats and low heels and, while they are soft and supportive, they never stay in place! Has anyone found an arch support that a) stays in one place and b) doesn't add as much bulk to a shoe as an orthodic or Superfeet?

First, to wear supportive shoes, and second, to sleep using an extra pillow for support. Can you help me out with both of these, fellow sufferers? Snowflakes inside. [more inside]

Is there any hope of ever finding reasonably hip men's shoes that can accommodate orthotics? By "hip", I don't mean hip for, like, Herman Munster. I live in NYC area, but will travel.
