I am a Canadian who is going to be going down to Bangor, Maine in a couple weeks time. One task for the trip is to find shoes for the wedding. I have really difficult feet to fit and I was hoping to get some suggestions for places to try. (Suggestions for plus size clothing stores that have cute/retro/fashionable would also be helpful.) My favorite pair of shoes in the entire world, this pair that there only seems to be one of in existence, are just a smidge too narrow. They're 11D, and feet would fit best in an 11E. That smidge is giving me one mean callous, but more importantly the widest part of my foot, tipped with that callous, has already worn through the leather lining and might have burst through the calfskin outer if I hadn't caught it in time. What can I do to not ruin these beautiful, expensive shoes any further? [more inside]
Birkenstock Sandals: I got two pair of the Gizeh sandal, 40 and 41. I wear a 9.5 US. I'm having trouble figuring which of these is going to fit and googling isn't helping. [more inside]
I’ve had trouble getting shoes to fit for a long time, but it seems to be getting worse as I get older. Today, I outgrew my shoes in the middle of a two-hour hike. [more inside]

For the 10th time in a row, I've bought shoes that are too big, and wear them out after I can return them. What are your best methods on making large shoes fit better?
I bought myself a pair of Real Cowboy Boots the other day, and I can't quite figure out if they fit me right. Should I return them and find another pair? [more inside]
Do cute 5.5 wide shoes exist? [more inside]
I am considering the online purchase of some Le Coq Sportif shoes. Undortunately there is no where in Santa Fe where i can try some on first, so I can find my size. For instance, I wear an 11 in new balances but a 10 in mephistos. Are there any websites that compare shoe fit by brand? Or does anyone have info on the fit of Le Coq Sportif? thanks
Where can I find wide-width casual shoes in New York? I'm looking for alternatives to New Balance. [more inside]

Where can I find arch supports for running shoes which *don't* extend back to the heel? [more inside]
I wear a 13 6E in whatever goofy sizing New Balance uses. I need something wider and I can't find anything out there. Does anyone make anything above a 6E width or am I screwed? Would moving up to a 14 6E give me some extra width?
