I have some great shoes I love that are ... falling apart. [pic
] Unfortunately, they've been discontinued! I can get something sort of similar but there are still some drawbacks. Diligent searching hasn't turned up my perfect work shoe, though. In short, I want something tough like a work boot, easy to put on and take off (i.e. velcro straps), but with walking-shoe type soles and as light as possible. [more inside]

Help me find a better soft arch support! I have been using Dr. Scholl's For Her
arch supports in my work flats and low heels and, while they are soft and supportive, they never stay in place! Has anyone found an arch support that a) stays in one place and b) doesn't add as much bulk to a shoe as an orthodic or Superfeet?

The soles on my dress shoes are not cushioning my feet properly and causing me back pain. What type of shoe inserts do I need? [more inside]

I am looking for flip-flops that have nice arch support. The arch on my left foot collapses quite a bit when I walk. I want the shoes to be flip-flops, not Birkenstock-style sandals. I am male, and I live in the U.S.

Is there any hope of ever finding reasonably hip men's shoes that can accommodate orthotics? By "hip", I don't mean hip for, like, Herman Munster.
I live in NYC area, but will travel.
