I'm looking for moving/shipping companies to send a couple of boxes of books & clothes from Australia to the USA (as I'm relocating). While requesting quotes, one company strongly suggested that I hire them to
pack my things for me as apparently US Customs get suspicious if the boxes were packed by the individual mover (me, in this case) rather than by a professional. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else and the US Customs website hasn't addressed this. What's going on?

Can I buy a bike on marktplaats.nl and have it shipped to me in the US? I looked through the policies and stuff, and didn't see anything that would prevent it, but my Google Translate might be fooling me.

Where can I find a comprehensive list of all the ports in the United States that are capable of receiving an international cargo shipment that will need to be cleared through US customs? I know that this includes seaports, but I think that it also includes "dry ports" and "intermodal hubs."

UPS says that US Customs has stopped a package being sent to me from Hong Kong and it is going to be destroyed, but they won't tell me how to contact Customs directly. Is something fishy going on here?
