I have a 3-4 quarter sized blood stains on white sheets. The sheets were laundered and ran through a dryer. Anyway to get it out? They're definitely a lighter color then before, but still visible since the sheets are white. [more inside]

I tend to like high thread-count cotton sheets (at least 400). Of course, they're usually pretty pricey. Looking for alternatives. [more inside]

Here's the issue—every single print shop I ask can only do runs of like 500 sheets for personal letterhead. I want only 50 sheets with envelopes, and I don't want to pay a freaking arm and leg for nice letterhead. How can I do this? I don't want something that's merely laser printed onto cheap paper. I'd like something that's nice, professional, and exudes quality.
I've seen these
at Crane, but they're still quite expensive. Any ideas mefites?

Seeking suggestions for high-quality bedding (sheets, linens, blankets, etc). I don't care at all about name brands/designer brands, etc. if that makes any difference—just want something of very good quality. In NYC, but online works, too. Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can buy fitted sheets that will fit my older 10-inch mattress? Everything they make now is for really thick mattresses, and the new fitted sheets just slip right off my thinner mattress. I'd rather not buy a new mattress just yet, and I'd prefer ones with a full elastic.

hi, i live in south west victoria, Australia. i am about to put a color bond roof on my weather board house, has any one done this lately? I am at a loss, of who to start shopping with for the sheets, hardware needed and the insulation. Which is my other problem i have been told to use sisalation (not right spelling i know) but i have had good reports on foil board, what have others used? i do have fiber blow in insulaion, but some of its damaged due to rain getting in, would it be better to replace this with pink bats or more fiber fill or what? i hope some one can help thanks

Do you have an awesome bed? A bed you're daydreaming about right now? I want you to tell me about it. Your favorite mattress, pillows, mattress topper, sheets, comforter, duvet cover, anything. All suggestions welcome.

Somehow, my partner and I have a superhuman ability to ruin sheets. The seams of the pillowcases split open. The sheets themselves develop gaping holes where our feet hit them. On several occasions, they've gone into the washing machine apparently fine, and come out torn to pieces. Can someone please give me very specific advice about how to make this not happen? Fabrics, thread counts, brands, tips on washing sheets, anything. [more inside]

My housemate and I, and our across-the-hall neighbours, will soon be throwing a combined blanket fort party. If anyone has done something similar, do you have any tips for the logistics of actually constructing said fortress? We're thinking twine strung across rooms, secured at the wall by those little adhesive hook things, creating a frame for draping our linen - but there are worries about the strength of those little adhesive hook things. For reference, our apartments are 1920s Art Deco things with very prominent architraves (I think that's the word - skirting boards coming down from the ceiling, is what I mean) which we are thinking of using as our anchor points.

I received a gift of a 500 thread count sheet set. I've always been under the impression that the higher the thread count, the softer and more durable the sheets are. These sheets, however, are not soft. They are noisy, wrinkle easily, and don't feel very pleasant.
Since I don't have the receipt to return them, what can I do to make them feel better? I've already washed them twice and used fabric softener sheets in the drier but with no success.

How often do you you change your sheets? (I'm specifically interested in single apartment-dwellers - if you're married, please feel free to contribute, but make a note of your marital status ... or ideally, note the difference between you as part of a married couple and as a single person). Thanks!
