Mefi laundry experts: Is there some way to wash and dry good quality bedsheets so they aren't hopelessly crumpled? [more inside]
Settle a debate between me and my wife. She insists EVERY new article of clothing must be washed before wearing. T-Shirts. Underwear. Socks. All washed first. Even bed-sheets and towels (a not-yet-used comforter started this debate.) I say brand new out of package is as clean as can be. Who's right?
I am currently posting this question while lying on crispy, smooth sheets at a Comfort Inn in anywhere USA. When I get home tomorrow, my Egyptian cotton sheets will feel much softer and "fuzzier." Are there crispy "civilian" sheets like those at this Comfort Inn? If so, where can I buy them?

When I'm using Google Sheets, entering words and strings of words in it, fairly often, when I hit return or tab to move to the next cell, the row height will suddenly double. This happens at least 1/4 of the time now, and it never happened in the past. [more inside]

I have set up a Google registration form for a monthly event, where attendees sign up any time and are then confirmed for the next open event. I like to mess around with the order of form submissions and add notes and colour-coding, but Google Forms/Sheets doesn't like this and messes up the order. [more inside]

So I am trying to do a simple equation in the googlesheets/excel and it is not working. any ideas why? So this is what I am trying to find =11/9752, but using the cells rather than typing in the numbers. I want to make this a rate, so x100,000. I keep getting an errror. Thanks! so cell A1 IS "11" and cell A2 is "9752" it should be=a1/a2*100000 but I get an error
My fitted sheet (bottom sheet) has a tendency to gradually get pulled off one side of the bed. This is because one side is closer to the wall, so all my getting in/out of bed and sleeping is on the other side. Is there a way I can stop this from happening, or at least slow it down? [more inside]
How, pray tell me, do you fold a fitted sheet so it looks nicely folded? [more inside]
I have some sheets I love (they are white with little dinosaurs on them), but they get dingy really fast and look dirty even when I've just washed them (they're pretty cheap but they make me happy). Seriously, even when they were new they looked kind of dingy after sleeping on them for two nights. What's the best way to get them as clean and white as possible without fading the dinosaurs? [more inside]
I want queen cotton sheets with fun patterns to go under my boring grownup comforter. White or pale backgrounds, small repetitive prints. Where can I find them? I've been able to find isolated instances, but I want options! I currently have animal options in mind (e.g little elephants, whales, owls), or perhaps nice multi-color stripes. I might sacrifice my favorite niece or nephew for amazing octopuses or seahorses. Not kidding, I really am jealous of the babies and their magic crib sheets. Some examples of what I've already found are after the cut. [more inside]
I'm getting a really nice queen-size bed in a few days and I want to outfit it with top-of-the-line, premium pillows, sheets, covers, blankets, and a world-class mattress pad. What's the best that money can buy?
Is there anything I can do to make my new flannel sheets less...sticky? I am apparently a very restless sleeper and the last two nights have had terrible nights' sleep after repeatedly waking up with my pj's seemingly velcroed to my sheets. [more inside]
I have a 3-4 quarter sized blood stains on white sheets. The sheets were laundered and ran through a dryer. Anyway to get it out? They're definitely a lighter color then before, but still visible since the sheets are white. [more inside]

Here's the issue—every single print shop I ask can only do runs of like 500 sheets for personal letterhead. I want only 50 sheets with envelopes, and I don't want to pay a freaking arm and leg for nice letterhead. How can I do this? I don't want something that's merely laser printed onto cheap paper. I'd like something that's nice, professional, and exudes quality. I've seen these at Crane, but they're still quite expensive. Any ideas mefites?

Does anyone know where I can buy fitted sheets that will fit my older 10-inch mattress? Everything they make now is for really thick mattresses, and the new fitted sheets just slip right off my thinner mattress. I'd rather not buy a new mattress just yet, and I'd prefer ones with a full elastic.

Somehow, my partner and I have a superhuman ability to ruin sheets. The seams of the pillowcases split open. The sheets themselves develop gaping holes where our feet hit them. On several occasions, they've gone into the washing machine apparently fine, and come out torn to pieces. Can someone please give me very specific advice about how to make this not happen? Fabrics, thread counts, brands, tips on washing sheets, anything. [more inside]
My housemate and I, and our across-the-hall neighbours, will soon be throwing a combined blanket fort party. If anyone has done something similar, do you have any tips for the logistics of actually constructing said fortress? We're thinking twine strung across rooms, secured at the wall by those little adhesive hook things, creating a frame for draping our linen - but there are worries about the strength of those little adhesive hook things. For reference, our apartments are 1920s Art Deco things with very prominent architraves (I think that's the word - skirting boards coming down from the ceiling, is what I mean) which we are thinking of using as our anchor points.
