What do you recommend to get rid of razor bumps? Products, shaving techniques, whatever. We're talking about shaving a face here, although I am under the impression it's the same issue with legs/pits.

I hate shaving! Thankfully I don't have the same problem as some other men which requires me to shave every day, but even at every second day it's a hassle. Is there anything simple I can do to slow my facial hair growth so that I need only shave, say, once a week at most?

ShavingFilter: Having a 5 o'clock shadow really works for me (clean shaven makes me look really young and I'm not into beards of any sort). So how do I maintain a 5 o'clock shadow look (or, as it was called in the 80s, designer stubble)?

HairFilter: After a year or more of growing my hair out for the nth time in my life, I have decided to shave/buzz cut it off, but I want to have some fun doing it! Specifically, I would like to integrate some crazy and/or interesting hair adventure into my Halloween costume. Suggestions, please, all you lovely Mefites! [more inside]

I'd like to shave my head, but I'm kind of developing a bald spot, and I'm worried about hair retention. Can anyone show me convincing evidence that shaving my head won't contribute to hair loss? [more inside]

I'm a 23-year-old guy who's never used a real razor to shave -- I've only ever used electrics. (Why? Because I'm a pussy and can't bear to think about cutting myself.) I've recently started to think that the electric shave is less than ideal, and that proper shaving would be a good life skill to have. Of course, it'd be a little awkward to ask Dad to show me how like everybody else, since I'm not thirteen and he's in another state. How can I teach myself to use a razor without causing myself grievous injury? What kind of razor gives me the smallest chance of cutting myself? Am I ridiculous for even asking about this?

Yesterday, I foolishly shaved my entire nether region.
While it looked lovely immediately afterwards it is now an itchy, rash-ridden, horror show. I need some suggestions on how to make the itching stop and the bumps go away fast!

I have a full beard and have been leaving sinks full of offerings for the Shaven Yak for about 15 years now. I never really worried about clean up too much (I did it, just didn't worry about it). However, it's starting to annoy me in my old age, and I was wondering if any of my Bewhiskered Brethren have any tips to share on minimizing the mess.

MetrosexualFilter: Seeking gift recommendations on medium to high end facial products for men, particularly a good exfoliating scrub and maybe shaving stuff. I go here

I turn 30 in two weeks. About two years ago, I went from only having to shave a couple of times a week, to shaving every day (or I look like a mountain man). I've also started growing great amounts of hair on my back (ick!), where there was none before.
Is this sudden burst of hormones (I almost want to call it "second puberty") normal for guys going through middle age? I'm just much harier than I was two years ago, and nothing else has changed.

I've decided to finally take the plunge and switch to an electric razor (mainly due to laziness). There are so many options I don't really know where to begin. I don't have much facial hair so I don't need anything ultra powerful (I don't think?). Any recommendations?

My shaving inevitably irritates or cuts my neck, even though I only shave at most every other day. I'm thinking about letting it grow into a neckbeard to supplement the Amish look I currently have. Is this merely mildly detestable or an all-out wrong? I'm not looking for shaving tips.

After twenty years of wet shaving, I'm buying an electric shaver, mainly for traveling. Any useful recommendations for lower budget ones (i.e. less than $100), or more importantly, ones to avoid? I have fast growing, black, thick/wiry stubble, so it needs to have plenty of torque or whatever it is that electric shavers have.
