I'm looking for a good way to share files with my clients that average about 20-25 MB each. While I've seen a number of (excellent) recommendations, like
drop.io, I haven't been able to find one with this feature:
Tracking which people download the file. I'd be okay if users had to create accounts, or if it was tracked by click-through from email links. But it must be private and allow user tracking.

Something-like-a-fileserver-filter: I have two computers, one with a scanner. Want to scan files with that computer but have them (immediately?) available to the other computer.

Non-profit group looking for a web based document storage / file sharing system to allow remote offices to share (mainly download) relevant organization documents. Does not have to have check in/check out capabilities. Will need to be able to password protect access so that general public does not have access. Could also use web portal capabilities and wiki like features - a lite CMS, but not required.
Have looked at things like Drupal (too complicated to get set up), Alfresco (wayy too expensive!), OWL (couldn't get demo to work).
Prefer to host on our own Linux based webserver, and have tech resources for installs etc, but not extensive coding.

How do I transparently share files from a Windows Server 2008 box to several XP computers? I want it to stop asking for a username and password when people try to access files.
Also, can anyone point me in the right direction to solving this weird network issue I've been having?

How can I share a single file or folder on my Mac? I am always connected to the internet, have seen what gazillions of "upload first" file sharing websites and services can do (MobileMe, Pando, YouSendIt, etc.), but it seems to me there should be a way to right click on a file, choose "share & email link," write & send that email and be *done* with it. My recipient can then download said file straight off my machine. Does anyone know of any solutions which are even close? Thanks!

I need to send files (photography, some in archives) to a few people on the internet. I just want to share images quickly, without using something like AIM or email. (Currently trying Pidgin, it keeps crapping out.) What are my options?

I need to create a website to upload and share files with colleagues. I want it to be open source (or cheap or free), and be easily customizable (think wordpress). We all teach Social Studies and want to share things like powerpoints, worksheets, lesson plans, rubrics, etc. Is there something out there that would work?

Best peer-to-peer file sharing program for Mac OS X? I'm using Limewire now, and am wondering if there is another program offering a better selection, ie, with more members. I'm mostly interested in audio files. Is there software allowing the downloading of entire albums at a time?
