I'm looking for a way to extend home WiFi into an adjoining building, where laying cable is not an option and packaging/LOS is a concern. I'd also like to reduce equipment cost, while not compromising endpoint throughput. Specific details inside.

Earlier this week, Mrs. Zooropa gave birth to our son, Elias (we call him Eli). He is our first, so of course, we are taking all sorts of photos and video on our phones, and have received a ton of requests from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.
Here's my question: what's the best and easiest way to share photos and videos with all these folks?

For a research project, we’re asking ~24 high school and college students to log their experiences with homework by sending us text messages and photos over the course of about two weeks. Is there a site where they can send those messages so that we could see them from a computer? There are particular features we’re seeking... What comes closest to satisfying them?

I've been offered first dibs on renting a super nice house. Unfortunately I need to find at least 1 and ideally 2 people to rent it with me. Just asking around my network if they know anyone hasn't worked out. I'm pretty sure Craigslist is the next best option...what should put in my post, and ask potential people in person, to weed out the crazies?

Hubby says we should get an iPad for Christmas and share it. How many couples do this and find that it works out ok? My first thought was that a mobile device is usually personalized. What if I put my books and tons of apps on and he thinks its too much and gets in the way of his finding stuff? Can we each have different "home pages" or am I just being selfish? I'm more techie and experimental than he is. How do we decide who gets custody of the iPad and when? I dunno maybe I'm over thinking this.

Looking for an equivalent to Songza as it was in jukebox format, not internet radio/streaming/build your own station format. Essentially, I want to be able to link to any specific song and share that link with anyone. Bonus if the link is compatible with most social networking sites (Google+, Facebook, etc).

What's the name of that song that you play on your running playlist that makes you push yourself further? You know the one - you're jogging at a decent, steady pace and then it comes on and mentally you go "Oh, YES!" and suddenly everything seems to get a lot more awesome and you are running full pelt with a huge grin on your face.

I have a Blogger blog. People other than me have been semi-regularly sharing my blog posts on Facebook. Neat! But I don't like how Facebook
previews the content of my blog post. It shows a photo of my face (from my Blogger profile) and the permanent text from my blog's banner. I wish it would preview the beginning of the blog post (and, ideally, not show my face). This issue seems to be Blogger-specific.

I have a 1TB secondary drive in my desktop computer that I have the root of shared over my local network. Inside are 5 folders, all but one of I want to be accessible over the network (one is a backup folder I don't want accessible to other network computers). Before I reinstalled my OS I had figured some way of changing the permissions so that if I was on the desktop itself I could get into the backup folder, but if I was on any other computer on the network I could see the shared drive and modify any folder but the backup one. I just recently reinstalled Windows Vista (Went from 32 bit to 64 bit) and now I can’t remember how I had set the permissions.

I have a project I just completed for my MEdu program. As part of that I created a video. I recorded it on my Panasonic SDR-H18 camera, edited it with the ImageMixer3 crap software that came with the camera and joined two clips into the movie I wanted. The problem? The end result seems too large to upload anywhere. The video is just under 1 GB. So I broke the video up into parts 1 and 2, 790 MB and 227 MB respectfully. I still can't upload even the smaller clip.
