visio noob question: connected two shapes from center of one to center of other. Moved one shape. Connector line didnt stick to the same point on the second shape, it moved around and connected to a different point on it. How make it so that connector line stays in the same location no matter where I move the second shape? [more inside]

A couple of years ago for an art project I made a couple of four foot long geckos out of conduit and fence wire. It was a lot of work and the end result, while pleasing, wasn't quite as finished looking as I would have hoped. I got the idea from looking at beaded wire frame animal shapes you can see for sale in artsy stores. How can I make a frame for animal shapes that represents the original more accurately with less guesswork? [more inside]

Do the curved triangular shapes made when cars (or even pedestrians) take "shortcuts" at T-junctions (seen here near my house and here in Western Sahara, although this seems like a deliberate one) have a name? What's the mathematics behind them? The psychology?
