My hair stylist told me I should shampoo just 2 times a week, and use conditioner at least that often. I usually shampoo every morning and only occasionally use conditioner. I have two questions about this.

Calling all chemists and haircare junkies: is it possible to add salicylic acid and/or ketoconazole into a shampoo, rather than buying off-the-shelf shampoos with these ingredients in them? If so, how do I do this? If not how do I prevent over-washed and dried out hair?

I am just terrible at being a lady. All the usual Beauty Stuff, stuff that it seems like everyone else was either born knowing or learned as teenagers, is a giant mystery to me. I need, like, a checklist or something for being a presentable-looking grownup.

I have a new baby and taking a nice long shower is now a thing of the past. I've been using my husband's Pert Shampoo+Conditioner but it makes my hair feel dry and doesn't de-tangle well. Is there a combined shampoo+conditioner product that will actually make my hair feel nice after I use it? Bonus points for hypoallergenic or fragrance free.

Are the salon hair care products sold online and at drug and grocery stores the same products that are sold in salons? Has anyone checked this out in a lab?

Argh! I need a good color-restoring product for my (dyed) red hair. The products I've tried either didn't work at all or were difficult to use. My stylist suggested a toning shampoo in between salon visits but had no particular recommendations. I've tried a couple but haven't noticed any slow-down of the fading. What have you tried that worked?

[Haircare filter] Looking for a gentle shampoo that won't irritate my scalp. I've used
Aubrey Organics shampoos for decades. I like that they use simple ingredients without petroleum derivatives. But lately my scalp is getting irritated.
Looking for simple shampoo that is gentle, but cleans well. I don't like synthetic fragrance. A light essential oil scent is ok. I'm looking for a formula with few ingredients. A long list of botanicals will likely include something I'm sensitive to. My skin doesn't tolerate shea butter.
My hair is normal to oily.

There's this soap that I really like and leaves my hair glowing and feeling very clean. I would like to "melt" the soaps into a bottle so I can use it as proper shampoo, especially when I go to the gym. Does anyone know how this can be done?

What is the most "stripping", powerfully cleansing shampoo out there? Prell isn't enough. I need something that can remove a tablespoon of oil from a head of medium-length hair.

This shampoo question reminded me of something that I saw in the store the other day. I saw a Sunsilk "line" that was all in Spanish and was in a fuchsia bottle labeled "Anti-Caida", which means, roughly, "Anti-Fall".

On the one hand, my hair smells (I think because I wash it everyday). On the other hand, I dont want to go bald trying to fix the problem (ie. stopping washing it everyday which I think is keeping my follicles from dying off).
