I work on a group of 11 developers. Our operations folks work 24/7, and occasionally servers go down or things break and a developer needs to be on-call to support these things. We have an 800 number that forwards to the on-call engineer's cell phone (rotated weekly semi-predictably) and has a centralized voicemail for missed calls. Unfortunately, our current service is a pain to configure and only supports a maximum of 10 forwarding numbers. Do you guys know of any services out there that would do something like what we're doing? I'm not sure what we're paying now, but it's probably under $100 a month.

(Asking on behalf of my wife) I'm looking for an online relational database service. My wife's business has been using DabbleDB, which is a fine service, but since the company was acquired by Twitter for unrelated technology, the future of DabbleDB is uncertain at best. So far Zoho Creator seems like the best alternative, but it's much less appealing than DabbleDB. I've looked at quite a few others, none of which seem ready for prime time. Is there some other online database service that we should be looking at?

I've been getting DVDs from Netflix recently that are cracked, scratched and otherwise unplayable. They always offer to send a repacement but what a pain it is to plan to watch in the evening only to find it won't play. Has anyone else experienced a rise in the number of damaged discs being received? When I called, admittedly a bit hot under the collar, to complain the Netflix CSR listened, briefly, but when I asked if Netflix had deliberately decided to stop inspecting discs for damage before mailing out to customers my call got seamlessly switched to National Car Rental. So much for customer service at Netflix!

Please help me find a literary and beautiful memorial service poem or passage for an actor, raconteur, well-read Renaissance man. A small group of friends is gathering to remember our actor friend. He was the perfect Falstaff and Dr. Faustus, but the poem/passage does not have to come from those works. It could be about acting, leaving the stage, turning off the lights, etc. but not clichéd or maudlin. Thank you.

As a result of my family, I've been a fairly mindful tipper for restaurants/bars/etc. involving service and have adjusted the percentage I tip based on what's considered the norm irrespective of quality of service (now, doubling tax which is close to 10% in CA and rounding up). I ran across minimum wages for tipped employees as a result of an argument with a cheap tipper and discovered that in CA waitstaff is paid at least minimum wage ($8, and higher in SF) without tip credit. I've looked at previous AskMes about dealing with bad tippers, contextual tipping, and others. Knowing that tipping in CA no longer goes toward maintaining basic wages, (based on size/# of staff, i.e. tip out), would it be socially acceptable to move toward a quality-based criteria for the value of the tip, and what would you consider an appropriate minimum assuming a properly run restaurant where employees are getting paid on-time and full salaries? Feel free to correct me if I've misunderstood anything.
