Inspired by this Ask(ed)Me further down the page: If an artist "sells out" a song to advertise a product, but uses the profits for charity or good works, is it excusable? Does it depend on the product? Do we all just ignore commercials anyway (since we're such enlightened, non-materialistic intellectual MeFites)?
