I've always wanted to be able to paint so over the last year I've taken a couple of oil painting courses. It seems now that I can paint well enough that people are asking about buying my work and one person wants to try to get me into galleries he knows. Wow! That's where I get stuck. How on earth do I come up with a price? Do I ask them to make me an offer? Are there resources for this kind of thing? Has anyone on here done this? What did you charge?
I'm tired of my four long boxes of comic books from my youth taking up closet space. I'm going to be selling them on eBay, as you do. I need your tips, tricks, and advice. [more inside]
I sell and buy stuff like clothing or household goods on eBay without any problems, but whenever I try to sell computer-related gear I end up having a miserable time of it. Numerous apparently tech-illiterate shoppers and browsers message me repeatedly with basic tech-support questions that could be answered with a quick web search, and sometimes they then buy an item only to kick up a huge fuss and demand to return it, with me paying shipping both ways, when it doesn't work as they expect or isn't "compatible" with their setup (often seemingly due to buyer incompetence). Are there seller strategies for ameliorating this problem? [more inside]

I was wondering how photographers have their work featured by companies that mass produce them for sale and which companies would be best to approach? I do a minimalist/modern style of nature photography that I haven't yet seen replicated. Pros often approach me and tell me my work is great so how would I go about having it sold in places that do the selling for you? (I don't even know the term for this!)

I've got 2 Mini Coopers that I love: 2006 automatic with 35k miles and sunroof that I own outright, 2011 manual with 17k miles and a Thule kayak rack that I owe about $7k on. My older teens have moved out and I don't need to have both cars anymore, so I'm trying to figure out the quickest, most hassle-free way of having only one car. Because I work full-time and live with just my son, I really don't want to have people coming to my house as I try to sell a car on my own and I'm willing to lose a little cash if I can make some type of deal on the spot with a dealer. Again, I really do NOT want to do Craigslist and sell the car on my own. I have a good relationship with the Mini dealer where I bought both cars. A friend suggested I bring in both cars, explain the situation, and see what they come up with. Any other ideas about the easiest way to get me into one Mini? Ideas to make the cars more desirable to the dealer? What angles have I not considered?

A dead relative left me a James Rosenquist signed print or poster. I would like to sell it. I would not like to deal with selling it. What's the easiest way to get something reasonable for it, as I have no idea of what the market value is. Contact Christie's or Southeby's? Are there agents who will deal with the whole process for a commission?
I would like to buy things that have a money value based on their actual utility. For example, I think gold is something that is overvalued since the shiny, soft metal doesn't have so many practical uses to justify its value. The second criteria is that the value of the thing would not go down much over a span of about 30 years, even if the economy went in the tank. Thirdly, I've a preference for commodity-like items that can be sold without much work. [more inside]
Selling a car on craigslist -- are there any drawbacks to including the VIN in the ad?
I got ahold of an Advanced Reader's Copy of a book that is not out yet. It is made by a famous actor (and it looks really, really bad). It has special wrapping related to said author and a "note" from the author (copied, in his handwriting, or at least it's supposed to be in his handwriting). Would it be illegal for me to sell it? Would it be immoral for me to sell it? Could I actually make a big pile of money by selling it? [more inside]

I've had a pre-order with a major UK online retailer for a limited run collectable ornament for a couple of months now, but the 'Due for release' date has been pushed back three times now, allegedly down to manufacturer delivery issues. That wouldn't normally be a problem... but the same online retailer has exactly the same item (and it's only made by one manufacturer) listed again elsewhere as 'In Stock' - but at more than a 50% markup (£130 as opposed to the pre-order price of £80). Are they doing anything legally wrong here (in UK law), as opposed to just deeply immoral?
Graphic Designer who wants to start her own screen printed shirt line (i know... I know). But doesn't want to get them printed on ugly looking shirts.
I want to start my own T-shirt company (i know I know. Don't roll your eyes). I am a graphic designer and would like to create shirts that are stylish. Basic screen printed shirts with sayings etc. While I know how to screen print I think my best bet is designing and then getting them printed through, well, an online shirt printing company. The trouble is most of them are very limited and have just the tacky crew neck shirt kind of thing. I don't want to do cafe press or zazzle style printing. So, What's a good company to go with? any suggestions? For example take a look at JacVanek.com Not crazy about her designs but her shirts are what I'm looking to print on. That urban outfitters style! Thanks!
