Do we list by ourselves thru a discount broker on MLS and use an realtor to help us find a new house or do we go ahead and list thru a standard broker that will do both and pay them the extra % in commission. Details inside.

I bought a Mini Cooper S in 2003. I loved the car and drove it a moderate amount until Christmas 2009, when I had to leave it at my father's house in Ohio and fly back to Chicago for work. I ended up leaving it there, and moving to New York City, where I'm clearly
not going to be needing it for a while. So I need to sell the car. It's in pretty good shape, with remarkably low mileage (about 50,000 miles). Unfortunately, by now the battery is completely dead. I have no idea how to go about getting it fixed, or appraising it, or listing it for sale. What's the best way of getting it listed and sold?

My husband bought a new Tempur-pedic mattress/box springs set hoping to ease some back pain he's been experiencing. After only two nights, he concluded that the mattress is too soft for him to sleep comfortably, and that it only worsened his back pain. I put the set on Craigslist for about 1/5 less than we paid, but we---predictably, maybe---had no takers. It is, of course, too big for selling/shipping on e-bay. I think most people hesitate about buying used mattresses, however light the use. We could just donate the set to a thrift store, but I'd rather try to recoup some of the nearly $700 that he paid.
Has anyone had a successful experience selling a mattress? If so, how did you do it?

We've decided to move. We currently live in Omaha, NE and are considering moving to Cedar Rapids, IA, where I grew up, because greatschools.org indicates that the schools there kick ass compared to Omaha and vicinity. (Our kids are 3 and 1, so we've got time, but you know... no time like the present.) We're still a little conflicted about whether to go to CR or not, but I'll save that question for next week.
