Trying to plan a last minute trip to Vancouver and need some hotel recommendations. Also, it's looking like it's significantly cheaper to fly into to Seattle. Would that make sense to fly into Seattle and then make my way to Vancouver via rental car, bus or train, OR would it be smarter to just pay the extra cost and just fly straight into Vancouver. My husband and I are planning a railway vacation from Chicago to Seattle in mid-July; I've never been there, and my husband has been once. Tips on train travel, fun things to do along the route, and unique things to do once we arrive would be greatly appreciated! [more inside]

I'm taking a trip to Seattle & Vancouver for an extended weekend. For these places, I'd really appreciate some info on: (1) where to get good coffee in the morning, (2) recommended pubs / microbrews to hit at lunch, and (3) atmospheric watering holes to finish up the evenings. [more inside]

My brother is taking a cheap flight from England to visit us in Seattle, which has a stop in Vancouver (YVR) for six hours. Is there anything taht can be done within that time that's worth doing? Would it actually be possible to get out of the airport? Or should I just tell him to bring a book?

My girlfriend and I have 1 weekend (two days one night) to spend in either Vancouver or Seattle or some combination of both cities and know nothing about either of them. We dock in Vancouver at 7 am on a Friday in June and will need to be in New York on Sunday. Planning on a Red eye from Seattle Saturday night. We generally like outdoorsy things (hiking, mountains, parks etc.), museums, and music. Alas, we also have a limited budget.
What's to do in Vancouver?
What's to do in Seattle?
Do we need a car?
Is it far to drive from one to the other?
Any suggestions as to where to stay/eat?

Quickie road trip! How long does it take to drive from L.A. to Seattle?
And how long to drive from downtown Seattle to downtown Vancouver, BC?
And how long from Seattle to L.A.?
How would you budget your time in each city? We're leaving on Sunday evening and we have to get back by Friday night. We might skip Vancouver if the timetable gets too tight. [more inside]

Can you provide specific recommendations on where to stop? What motels should I stay at? What's interesting to see/do/photograph? [more inside]

My son moved to Portland over a year ago from the SF Bay Area and misses the radio choices we have here, especially for techno. I googled for info but am not sure how current the information I found is. Does anyone have suggestions for techno radio stations in the greater metro Portland/Seattle/Vancouver area? He drives a lot between Portland and Seattle for his work and would appreciate the call sign as well as the number.
