The Canadian Conservative Party is currently at 30.2%
in nationwide polls but, due to factors such as vote splitting and regionalized support, is currently projected to form a minority government with 131 out of 308 seats in Parliament. That's undemocratic. Idea: what if opposition parties agreed not to run candidates in specific ridings so as to create two party races (Conservative-Liberal in some ridings, Conservative-NDP in others). Would that be lawful? [more inside]

I'm traveling solo from Paris to London on Monday on the Eurostar and I just realized I've been assigned a jumpseat rather than an actual seat. Reading around it sounds like as a solo traveler they severely limit seats they will assign you in advance, so there may be seats available when I arrive. My question is how likely is it I'm going to be stuck on a folding seat, and if so is it bearable or should I pay to upgrade to a car with seats?

It's time to switch my kids from regular car seats to booster seats and I can't figure out which to buy or what features I should be looking for. If you've gone through this, can you please share your experiences to help me make a decision? [more inside]

Me and a friend are both taking the Amtrak Empire Builder from Minneapolis to the Northwest in late May. However, she is heading to Wenatchee, WA. and I am heading to Portland, OR. We haven't bought any tickets yet, and we are wondering if it is possible to be on seats next to each other even though we are heading to different locations. Is this possible? The train we both need to take splits off in Spokane, WA. which is why we can't simply buy the same tickets and one of get off early.

Is there a Japanese car -- subcompact or compact size -- that has heated seats as an option? (I can't seem to find one among the new models.) If not, why not? We Northerners would certainly pay for this feature, but it looks like you still have to get up to the Accord/Camry size before they are an option!

I am traveling to Chicago in April to see a Mets-Cubs game at Wrigley Field and want to get good (though not necessarily expensive) seats. For those who have been to Wrigley, are there any seats you would definitely recommend? [more inside]

: I neurotically, obsessively bought two tix to the same concert at Madison Square Garden in an effort to get the best seat I could. Both are good for different reasons, so I'm having a tough time deciding which one to use. [more inside]

The backs of my thighs ache on long car trips. Can anyone recommend a good seat cushion that might alleviate this problem? Thanks.

Anyone know of a source for third-party/aftermarket seats that can be safely
installed in a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport?
The "factory" seats in the truck aren't very ergonomic at all, and give my wife pretty bad back pain even on moderate (~150 mile) drives.
She's got a 1200-mile trip coming up in two weeks, and I'd love to find a solution other than "keep using a lumbar support pillow" which is barely adequate.
My Internet searches haven't turned up anything at all, and a "truck accessories" shop I went to in Austin (I'm now in Houston) said "Sorry, we can't help you."
