I often find myself wanting to search sites like netflix and amazon with greater granularity than the sites currently offer. For example, I'd like to find every highly-rated thriller that takes place in another country and is available used for $5.00. Or if I'm searching netflix, I would want to find every foreign mystery that is rated at four stars or higher and is rated pg-13 or lower. Are there third-party clients or scripts that will accomplish these or similar tasks?

I enjoy finer things, and like to laugh at crappy stuff. Is there any way to search amazon to bring up the best or worst products (in a category or overall)? A list of "all 5-star products" would be too crude, so I'm thinking, search for the combination of higest rating with most reviews, or lowest rating with most reviews.

Can I browse Amazon totally by user rating? I've often thought it would be really neat to see what books on Amazon have 5 stars but also have the MOST number of recommendations. They're probably incredible books. Can I do this?

AmazonFilter: Now that Amazon.com sells merchandise from hundreds of third-party vendors, a search that previously would have returned a manageable set of results now turns up pages and pages of products. Is there any way to search for products sold only by Amazon and not by third-party sellers?
