We are doing a campus wide migration to gmail, and that means I have a few hundred thunderbird users who need their settings changed to point to a new imap server (and change their username to username@foo.edu). What is the best way to get this done?

I want to set up a system where Windows will watch a folder for any Office 2007 files and then automatically convert them into Office 2003/2004 files.

Script-fu for arbitary text: Across applications (but especially in text editors) I want to be able to (a) right click on a bit of selected text (b) have the usual contextual menu pop up upon doing so, but with options to (c) send said text to an arbitrary script (perl, python, whatever) and (d) potentially have the selected text replaced by script results, if the context is right. What are my best options for both the Mac and Windows?

I have loads of work. I dont want to do it no more (than once) With batch files, there are things that i could automate right now, but i want to get more complex, with loops and ifs and error handling and all the rest. What would be the most beneficial short term / long term routes, what do you do?

I've a batch file for automatically uploading a file from my computer to my webspace. The batch file does it's job perfectly but I'm having problems automating the running of the batch file. I've set up a scheduled task to run the file but the problem is that even with the batch file settings changed to 'Run Minimized' the scheduled task still runs maximised and takes over my whole screen. Since I have the file set to run every 10 minutes this is a problem. Anybody have any solutions?

Microsoft Script Debugger - Has anyone actually gotten this thing to work properly? I've got some JavaScript (that I didn't write) that is completely bisbehaving in IE (although it produces no errors...it works fine in FireFox, so my usual line of attack doesn't work). I've used the View | Script Debugger | Break at Next Statement and then refreshed the page. It opens the debugger app but doesn't open any source files and it most certainly doesn't break. Has anyone seen this behavior and overcome it?
