In OSX, say you have a folder that is often populated with subfolders containing RAR archives spanning multiple files named either in a format like filename.rar, filename.r00, ... filename.r10 or filename01.rar, filename02.rar, .. filename10.rar.
How would you create a folder action, be it mostly Automator, Shell or Actionscript or any other tool based, that would automatically extract the contents of these archives once (and only once) when they are added?

I need to automate the process of printing a report to PDF with the date in the file name, saving it in an archive folder, printing it, and emailing it as an attachment. I am on a Mac and using Pages, Automator, and AppleScript. Help me find the missing pieces! [more inside]

How can I automate printing a complete website to PDF?
I need to be able to show what the site looked like on any given date. The site is a sales tool and therefore requires user input on every page, so simply spidering the site is not adequate.
Because the site requires user input all over the place, I'd somehow need to supply the tool with data so it could be fully automated.
Are there tools out there that could do this?
Note: It doesn't necessarily have to be output to PDF, just something manageable and static.

I have loads of work. I dont want to do it no more (than once) With batch files, there are things that i could automate right now, but i want to get more complex, with loops and ifs and error handling and all the rest. What would be the most beneficial short term / long term routes, what do you do? [more inside]
