My iMac is doing something weird with brightness. It's not showing up at full brightness except every once in a while for a second after the display has slept.

What is the best anti-glare (matte) film for my unibody MacBook Pro? I hate the glossy screen, but it was the only option available when I was given the laptop. For a while I had an anti-glare film on it, but it got dirty and seemed like it was making the screen too fuzzy, so it was removed. I'm considering the
Green Onions AG2, the
Moshi iVisor, the
Power Support, or the
RadTech Clear Cal. They all seem to get fairly mediocre reviews. Today I came across the
3M Privacy Filter, which apparently has a matte side, and better reviews, but the privacy filter would actually be a little annoying for my use. Suggestions? Other ideas?

When I take screenshots on my mac and paste them into a power point presentation I can see them, but anyone I send the ppt to gets no pictures, just a quicktime decompressor message. Images do render to a pdf. This never used to happen to me on my last powerbook. Are there settings that I can change? Thanks

How do I change the resolution of my Macs desktop when sharing the screen and viewing on a linux machine using tightvnc? I am screen sharing my Mac Mini w/ leopard. I can log in and see the screen using TightVnc on a Linux machine. However, I can only get full resolution that is painfully slow over the Internet. The low quality options on the VNC viewer have no effect and I can't find anysettings on the Mac to lower the quality.

My mother has an Acer LCD (model AL1715) hooked up to her Mac Mini. The warranty expired 3 days ago, and last night it woke up after being asleep for about 45 minutes with a black line across it - the image divided in such a way that the image has rolled - that is, the bottom is at the top and the top at the bottom, split not quite equal halves. Disconnecting and reconnecting don't work, powering off and back on don't work, changing the display mode on the mac doesn't work, and we can't find a reset button. Acer doesn't answer tech support phone calls (endless holds) or emails. Any ideas?

What LCD monitor should I buy?
This thread 6 months ago recommends the Dell UltraSharp 1905FP, which is
about $383 right now. Is that still the best bang for my monitor bucks? I'm not a gamer, do a little web work but nothing hugely critical, and look at my computer screen for most of the day. What do you recommend?
