Let's say there is a database that I can only access from a front end tool, and that database cannot provide any extract of any sort. I also have no access to run reports off that database.
And let's say that the only way to preserve that data is to print to pdf or do screen shots.
btw- all legit and you are not helping me do something malicious.

Can I simply physically replace the 1366*768 LCD in my HP EliteBook 8440p with the
1600*900 part and have the laptop autodetect the new screen and show the proper resolution? Or is there extra logic or connectors or dongles or whatever in the main body that must also be modified in order for the display to work, (or maybe it Just Won't Work)? Put simply, is HP 594090-001 plug-and-play?

How do you screen for reliability and filter out self-centered/selfish nature in dating in real life and online dating? And, how do you find out whether a person (for dating or friendship) is a 'giver' or a 'taker'?
By reliability and being a giver, I don't mean something as trivial as calling when they say they will. I mean more like being there for you when you are going through one or more major challenging life events, putting the relationship and "us" before individual interests especially when the going gets rough for you and not for them individually.
Does this kind of reliability even exist among partners and can one really, truly, deeply trust another human being or do you feel you always have to watch your back even with a partner of months or years or decades?

My work computer is a laptop running Windows 7. I am working far from my office this week (as I often do) and I connect to my work server through Remote Desktop Connection. Typically this is pretty much problem-free, but for the last two or three days, when I log in to the server, I am seeing the server's desktop not as a full screen, but in a window about 10" wide on my 17.3" laptop screen. As well, while the laptop's screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, the window looks to be 4:3. Attempting to resize the window through the Maximize/Restore Down icon avails me naught: I can mouse over the edges of the window and drag it to a new size, but it maxes out at the size that I mention, which covers maybe 60% of the screen's real estate. Numerous reboots and resets have not rectified it and I am at a loss as to how to proceed.

There is no A/C, no screen door, and no magic they'll provide us to keep mosquitos/flies/bugs from entering through the patio door when it is open. Besides reasoning with them (it's just their policy), what recourse do I have so that I can keep the screen installed on my door? I'm in San Diego, CA.
Also FWIW, the screen is far from unsightly. Search for "bug off instant screen" on Amazon.

A friend's iPad has a screen protector that is slightly micro-bumpy and rubbery. I call it "nurbly." It breaks up reflections but doesn't dull the display the way matte screen protectors do, since it is shiny, but bumpy. Another friend has the same thing on his iPhone. Neither of them can remember where they got it. Does anyone have this and know the name of it? I want to put one on my iPad mini.

We haven't had a proper TV in over a decade. I would like to have something other than my laptop to watch streaming media, DVDs, Netflix, etc. Can you explain how this works in 2013? I imagine we'd buy something like this
Samsung LED HDTV and some kind of speakers. Then what? Do we plug it into a laptop? What exactly is Apple TV and how does it stack up against Roku? This seems like it should be a simple question, but I feel like a caveman emerging from the dark, and am fairly bewildered at all of the options and variations out there.

I got myself a
Lenovo tablet on super sale for Christmas. I'm interested in using it to read and annotate pdf files (mainly journal articles). The pdf reader app I'm using has the ability for freehand writing, and I'd like to try that out for margin notes (some of the papers are technical with lots of symbols, so writing is easier than typing). I bought
a stylus that had pretty good reviews on Amazon, but I have to push down to make it work which is ok for highlighting, but tiring for writing. Is this a limitation of this tablet's screen? Or is there a stylus that is easier to use?

Is there any way to make a web browser use two windows to show the first and second window-fulls of a single web page? This would be the equivalent of the "two up" view found in some PDF viewers. On the left, your normal view of a web page. On the right, the next part of that same page -- the thing you would see if you hit "page down" in the first window.

I need a cleaning towel for my large screen DLP TV. The manual says to use a cotton towel, but I find that solution to be less than perfect, a lot less than perfect. I've considered a microfiber cloth, but I don't have any experience with them, and the ones that get good reviews (from Amazon) are too small for the task I need them for. A cleaning solution is something I've considered, and plenty of them are labeled "safe for TV screen", but words are cheap and my TV isn't.
Basically, I'm hopelessly lost, and would appreciate some suggestions on a TV screen cleaning kit with a proven history of reliability and customer satisfaction.
Thank you.

At work I use a Dell Latitude 5400 on XP Pro. In it's dock - which has twin DVI outputs - it can output to a 32" and a 24" monitor at a resolution of 1920x1200 on each. I want to switch out the Dell with a Thinkpad x200 on Win7. It has a VGA output, and if I buy the dock, it too has a single VGA output. How do I determine the maximum resolution I will be able to achieve from the Thinkpad (understanding that dual monitors would not be possible), and will buying the dock enable me to achieve a larger resolution?

About a month ago, I spilled some water on my laptop. So I let everything dry out. It works again, but now the screen is very bright, as if the contrast is turned way up. After searching the internet, I learned that the problem could be a damaged inverter so I ordered and installed a new one. But no dice. The screen is still really bright. Any ideas of what might be the problem?

What is the best anti-glare (matte) film for my unibody MacBook Pro? I hate the glossy screen, but it was the only option available when I was given the laptop. For a while I had an anti-glare film on it, but it got dirty and seemed like it was making the screen too fuzzy, so it was removed. I'm considering the
Green Onions AG2, the
Moshi iVisor, the
Power Support, or the
RadTech Clear Cal. They all seem to get fairly mediocre reviews. Today I came across the
3M Privacy Filter, which apparently has a matte side, and better reviews, but the privacy filter would actually be a little annoying for my use. Suggestions? Other ideas?

I am sending back my 5th defective Kindle 3 because of screen faults--lines, not fully loading, not displaying properly. Amazon never says anything about why, but apologize for my trouble and agree to ship a replacement. But the damn things only last a month sometimes before the same problem happens. It's a nuisance not to have it work, especially when I'm off the grid on a trip or a vacation, and tedious to have to set up and transfer books and periodicals from old to new.
Is there an alternative? Do others have similar problems? The last CR I talked to suggested I buy a thick leather cover (which the sell for $40) but declined to say the lack of a cover was the cause of the problem.
Has anyone used a cover? Is it necessary? Is so why doesn't Amazon provide a cover. It would be cheaper than sending so many replacements.
