Whoops... had a bit of a scrape this morning: http://i.imgur.com/2rVDhM6.jpg I can simply buy some touch up paint and paint over this? Or are there other steps I should take to make this better? It's about the width of a dollar bill.
I have inherited two kittens (now almost a year old). One of them is continually scratching my elementary-aged kids. I have had no luck training the kids in cat body language, because it seems to go from cuddly-and-purring to face-scratching instantly. [more inside]
I am itchy all over. And now, from scratching in bed, entirely covered in hives. My body is throbbing and I feel like my brain will snap if I don't scratch the incessant creeping itchiness that is simply everywhere. YNAMD - but also, my doctor won't be in until Tuesday and I feel this issue isn't worth taking up time in urgent care or emerg. [more inside]
So I'm starting research on a new project that involves people who supposedly sold their soul to the Devil for something Robert Johnson style. Unfortunately all the searching I'm doing is pointing to him. Help me find the early deals, the famous ones besides RJ and the most recent soul sales attributed to old Scratch.
I'm fostering a cat, but she's been here since April so this is turning into a long-term project. She wasn't feral, but had had a hard outdoor life for awhile and was somewhat tense, and part of my deal has been to calm her down and make her more adoptable. On the whole it's been working and Sophie is about 95% there. But... [more inside]

My in-law's dog licking up crumbs from my 18-month old daughter's car seat. My daughter toddled over and the dog turned his head sharply and she got a cut under her eye from the dog's tooth. I always thought any action with a dog's mouth was considered a bite but my MIL corrected me and told the urgent care doctor it is a scratch from a tooth. Which was it? Is she trying to protect her dog? I'm confused. [more inside]
I intend to buy a scratch & dent furnace from these guys, even after shipping (100 dollars) It will be much cheaper than buying a new one. I want to find some heating/cooling company to install it for me.. Snowflake details inside. [more inside]
I'd like to make a cake (mandarin orange cake) but all the recipes I have found from Google use cake mix. I am not anti-cakefromabox, especially when doctoring it, but I don't have time to go out and buy a box of cake mix. I do, however, have a well stocked kitchen. How I can substitute ingredients from scratch for a vanilla cake mix?

My apartment building has assigned parking spaces. My parking neighbor (though not my actual neighbor in the building, for weird reasons) left a large, very noticeable scratch on my front quarterpanel last night or today, complete with paint transfer matching his vehicle. How do I resolve this in a way that feels fair to me but averts major bad blood? Snowflakes on their side of the line inside. [more inside]

Can you point me towards a site with different "scratching" noises suitable for ringtones (length and formatwise). Would also appreciate a step by step tutorial of how to convert said mp3/mp4 to an iPhone 4S ringtone. Cheers
I have used Soft Paws to prevent my two cats from scratching our furniture in the past, and they worked really well. However, either they redesigned their glue dispenser, or I've developed serious glue-handling issues, because I went through three bottles of glue spilling all over the place before I gave up. Is it safe to use Krazy Glue, or some similar product instead of the glue they provide? [more inside]

Someone (i.e., me) backed the family car into a parking meter a while back, causing a small dent and some cracking in the paint (photo 1, 2, 3). Body shops say this will cost about $600-650 to repair over two days (which is a hassle for my fiancée, who commutes by car). Dealer said over $1000! Main concern is rust, not the dent--this is a hand me down car from 1999. Can we make an acceptable fix ourselves? How? [more inside]

Do cat repellent sprays really work? Thinking of purchasing some expensive leather dining room chairs and I'm concerned about possible damage from scratching. I purchased a sisal scratching post a few months ago and my cat uses it constantly but I'm still nervous. He destroyed a cheap leather computer chair I purchased many years ago. The problem seems to be under control but I'm still worried. Any recommendations?

Apparently, we've done a few things you aren't suppose to do to our fairly newly finished (last year) wood floors including using a jute rug with a rubber rug pad under it. Last week I noticed the tassels on the rug were scratching the finish so I took up the rug and pad. In addition to the finish being scratched, it looks like the pad left some sort of residue on the floor. How do I get the nice finish back on our floor (the finish is a standard 3 coat poly finish)?
Fleas! But different... I'm not intending to kill any fleas, I just want to get them to stop biting me and/or make the bites stop itching! [more inside]
Consistently, every single time I come home, my cat will come over to a particular corner of my desk -- I need not be sitting at it or indeed be anywhere near it -- and meow while faux-scratching it. He occasionally will stretch his back after the scratch, but not always. It's extremely cute, and he's such an affectionate cat that I'm even kind of touched by it. But I suppose I find myself curious as to what the gesture breaks down to. I'm assuming it's a greeting, since he repeats it without fail every time I come home after being out for more than a few minutes, but I suppose I'm curious as to what the action signifies. I doubt it's totally random, but I can't quite figure out what "animal world" thing he would be doing by that particular pattern.
