Please tell me where to walk around in Scottsdale, AZ. I plan to hit Taliesin West and the Heard Museum but where can I semi-aimlessly wander around Scottsdale or Phoenix for a pleasant afternoon/evening?

Hiking trails in Phoenix/Scottsdale?

My wife will be in Phoenix/Scottsdale for a few days for work. She'd like to do some hiking. Are there any hiking trails (easy to moderate, 1-3 miles) that are picturesque, peaceful and safe for a woman hiking alone?

Scottsdale hotel recommendations sought - urban, hip, preferably near boutiques, etc... I'm specifically looking for something not 'resort-y', i.e. mega-pool, etc., but rather something more hip, with a nice bar, near restaurants, etc. Price not an issue.

I know little of the area. My wife and I will be spending the day at the Camelback spa, but I'm not too interested in their $600/night rooms if there's not much else at the resort besides pools and mediocre food.

LastMinuteVacationFilter: Denver/Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tucson We leave tomorrow night for Denver (staying downtown) and then from Denver on Tuesday for Arizona (staying in Scottsdale). I need recommendations on: pool halls or bars with pool tables, bars with steel tip dart boards, karaoke, public transportation, availability of taxis in downtown areas, good steak houses, good restaurants that are not mexican or tex-mex, and other things worth mentioning.

I have read other threads on Denver and, even though the food may not be good, we're going to Casa Bonita. That's where my 9th birthday party (last one while living in Denver) was. That, and my SO saw it in South Park. We also may be visiting Elway's in Denver.

I'll be accompanying my significant other to the Scottsdale, Arizona area for the next few days while she attends a conference. Since I'm just along for the trip, I'll have several days worth of time to fill. I've already looked up the 'best' used book and record stores according to the local weekly. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to spend the remainder of my time (ie sightseeing / attractions / shops)? I'm not very outdoorsy but I'm willing to fake it.
