I can't find a consistent way to compare public schools in two different states, but maybe someone here has personal experience that'll help. We're considering buying a home in either the SF bay area or in Austin. Is there a substantial difference in the quality of the public schools? I am a 28 year old American male. I completed two years of college between 94-96. I would now like to finish my bachelor's degree (Computer and Information Science, possibly something else, it depends) in another country. I speak Spanish fluently, but I prefer to study in English. I'm looking at Europe or Argentina (where my family's from). Are there any programs, schools, or things I should know and look into regarding programs taught in English? Montessori schools? We're looking into sending our toddler to a Montessori pre-school next year. Anybody have any experience with them? Most of what we've read is pro-Montessori but I'm looking for personal experiences from people who have sent their own kids or who have gone themselves. I sent out resumes to every school system I was interested in and followed up with the basic "Just want to confirm you received it" blah blah blah. I've been told that, now that some systems are posting openings, I should be calling them regularly to keep them aware of my name. But... what do I say?
