I was,were,will be confused!

is there a grammar checker out there that will check my documents for consistent tense? I have a teacher who's a real stickler, and even if I go over my paper with a fine toothed comb, I always miss one or two. Does anybody have a program I could use to save myself some points in class?

help me make friends and not look like an ass!

Starting my grad school program next week (clinical psychology, PhD) and am joining a cohort of 7 others. Any suggestions on things to do (or not do) when meeting and getting to know people I'll have to work with for the next six years? I'd like to be friends with them, especially since we have all our classes together. But the chances of such a small group together so much so stressed without conflict seem doubtful to me. Other psych grad school advice is welcome too. Thanks!

Homeless in the fall?

Questions about grad school housing: 1. Anybody know a good site to find apartments on? I'm moving to Mt. Pleasant, MI in August and need a place for me to live that takes cats. I tried rent.com but its not helping much. 2. Are there any sites that help match you up with roommates? 3. Living with your classmates? High compatibility or just plain dumb (I'll be in a class of 7) [more inside]
