I'm looking for "behind the scenes of the XYZ industry" type books. They can be fiction or non-fiction. [more inside]
I'm looking for clips of satellites in movies, ideally shots of satellites visibly malfunctioning (sparks and whatnot, as impossible as that might be in space). This is for an internal not-to-be-distributed project, so there are no copyright concerns. Any ideas?

I'm looking for interesting and diverse scenes and monologues that would work well in an acting class for female students, approximate age range 13-22. [more inside]
I'm starting a book club among my friends where we just read the dirty bits from popular books to each other. They don't even have to be popular books - just books that I can actually find easily. And it's not exactly a book club. More like a reading-to-each-other club. Anyway, can you remember and recommend any notably hot sex scenes from books you might have read? [more inside]
Help me understand how, in suspense fiction, to transition between scenes that are happening at roughly the same time, but extending for different timespans. [more inside]
Quick, blush-inducing question: remember the diner scene in Silver Linings Playbook? I would like more scenes from movies/TV like that (basically, a conversation which plays out like an impromptu tango, and in which one/both parties finds themselves unexpectedly/uncomfortably/obviously aroused).
I'm looking for great fight scenes from literature. I've seen the questions on fight scenes from movies and I'm not looking for those (or TV or comics). Books only, please (I suppose plays count, but you can safely assume I'm familiar with every fight scene from Shakespeare). [more inside]
Hi all! I'm in a film production class and I have to shoot an intimate scene set in a restaurant booth. Frankly, I'm having problems figuring out how to stage everything, so I'd like to take a look at some similar movie scenes. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any. YouTube has been no help (maybe I'm not searching properly). Can anyone suggest some specific movies with scenes set in a bar or restaurant booth? I'd prefer something film noir-ish but I'll take any suggestions. Thanks!

Any recommendations for erotic film scenes, songs, literature, etc that incorporate rock and roll - like the kiss in The Runaways? Bonus points if it involves two girls. [more inside]
Help me identify a movie or tv show based on a half-remembered scene involving a bar patron ordering whiskey and water. [more inside]
I'm looking for movies that feature a prom scene, but only from 2000 to 2010. (I've already got a huge list of prom movies from 1950 to 1999, so I don't need any from that period.) I am organizing a prom, and wanted to show a compilation montage of prom scenes. Thanks in advance!
Can you help me name three childhood movies based on the briefest snippets of scenes? I have only brief glimpses of scenes from three movies I watched on TV when I was a kid (~35 years ago). For years I've thought about those scenes and I'd like to identify the (probably obscure) movies to which they belong. [more inside]
I'm teaching a film class for gifted teenagers. I need help thinking of short scenes from films for acting / directing practice. [more inside]

There are some scenes in films that are so famous that they are referred to by shorthand, such as the "Odessa Steps" in Battleship Potemkin or "Tears in Rain" in Blade Runner. Some friends and I have been trying to come up with others, but I am drawing a blank. What are other scenes that fit this criteria (and I am not looking for famous scenes per se or anyone's personal favorites, just scenes that, for whatever reason, have been bestowed a specific and generally known name).
In the recent movie School of Rock there's a scene where Jack Black's character is standing in front of a blackboard on which he's sketched out a history/taxonomy of rock music. Does anyone know how I'd go about getting a poster of this? [more inside]
