Where can I buy pashmina scarves in Montreal?

Where can I find pashmina scarves in Montreal? Not the super-expensive ones, but the many-coloured, mass produced ones. I saw loads in Chinatown in Vancouver, and I am wondering where I can find similar ones here?

Does anyone recognize and know where I can buy this scarf Nathan Fillion was wearing? On the most recently aired episode of Castle, Nathan Fillion was wearing this scarf (sorry, poor quality Hulu screenshot). I've checked a number of different clothing retailers, and while I've found some scarves that are similar, they've all got something significantly different about them (too bright, different width, not as long, etc). I'm looking for a new scarf, and I'd like it to be this one if I can figure out where I can get one. Anyone know?

Keffiyeh Tying

We're in the depths of an icy winter here in Kentucky and I've been wearing a keffiyeh like this, which has helped a lot. When it's less cold/windy I pull the parts extending over my head and face down and it forms a pretty good torus of cloth around my neck. What other ways can I wear it? How do you do this?

Knitters: Need scarf help

Knitters: I want to knit a scarf 60" long. I have 174 yards (two 87-yard skeins) of yarn. The information on the label says needle size US 8-10, and the little swatch thingy says a 10 x 10 swatch is 16 stitches by 22 rows. I am planning to just knit in garter stitch. Is there a way to figure out how many stitches I should cast on in order to make this yarn last until the scarf is 60" long? I don't care how wide it is.

Desperately Seeking Scarf

Please help me find this scarf. I'm not really looking for this *exact* scarf, but for a decent, thin-weave, biggish scarf that approximates this goldish, mustardy color (but not sparkly). The color is the thing.

It would hurt me to spend more than $30, but sometimes I choose pain over prudent financial decisions. I'm hoping that I might be able to find scarves on sale this time of year.

P.S. Are there small time, crafty people making scarves like this? I've looked on etsy.com. but the scarves there seem chunky (not a bad thing, but not what I'm looking for).

Help me find an interesting knit scarf pattern. I'm about to relocate for a couple years to a colder climate than I am used to, and by a stroke of good fortune, I also came across some beautiful heather grey bulky weight wool and mohair yarn (about 185 yards of it). To help with the nervousness of relocating, I want a knitting project that will calm me, and keep me a bit focused on the task at hand.

I tried searching but was not able to find a pattern I really liked. So, I turn to metafilter once again. I want a scarf that is not of the standard knit-every-row variety. I don't think I want pain ribbing either. Something with dropped stitches or cables are fine. Nothing with pom poms, and I'm not sure how I feel about tassels. I have a fairly wide variety of needle and crochet hook sizes at my disposal. Sorry for any fussiness in my desires.

Anyone able to help identify an elusive women's scarf subspecies?

What would a women's square wool or fleece scarf be called? One of my relatives has been hinting at wanting one. However, I haven't been able to find anything online using those search terms. And when I've asked at stores/boutiques, they look at me like I've been hitting the crackpipe. She has one that she's had for quite a while (but it's not very warm). So it's not like she's imagining some winter accessory that never existed.

What I'm looking for is roughly the size of a square silk scarf, but made of a warmer material. The potential gift recipient wants something that could be folded diagonally in half, with the hypotenuse of the resultant triangle wrapped around her neck like a short scarf, and the rest of the triangle covering her upper back under her coat.

It's definately not a pashmina, although several stores have suggested them.

Several weeks ago I bought a great orange cashmere scarf at Target for $25. It got stolen. Now I can't find the scarf at any of my local Target stores or on their website. Googling for orange cashmere scarves only turns up very expensive scarves. Are there any online merchants that might have this amazing scarf at such an affordable price?
