why do kids not flush the toilet? I've got two pre-teens and they NEVER flush the toilet despite my and my wife's prodding day in and day out. Sure, we've had plumbing backups that could cause them to want to avoid an unpleasant situation, but that hasn't happened in more than a year. They leave their business behind and then walk away. Any explanations? Any suggestions?

How can I safely clean a plastic basin that's been used for soaking human waste-related cloths? MenstrualAftermathFilter!

I use flannel reusable sanitary cloths, and they're wonderful. Part of the laundering process is to pre-soak them before sticking them in the washing machine.

I usually just leave them immersed in the bathroom sink overnight, but recently due to sink issues I had to use my plastic basin instead.

What can I do to safely clean the basin? I rinsed it out thoroughly, but I'm not sure what cleaning products are okay to use on it. I'd like to continue using it for its usual purposes: hand-washing clothes, soaking my feet, and possibly pre-soaking the girlyrags again. (Note: I am the only person using this basin!)

Does putting TP or one of those safetyguards on the toilet seat actually do anything? Or is this just a salve for our collective germophobia?
