With several major (many users) social media service providers being headquartered in, or near to, San Francisco in California, what would be the effect on these services of a catastrophe e.g. earthquake, tsunami, Godzilla etc laying waste to the city? Would these services still be able to function without a HQ, senior personnel and owners, and with all of the disruption caused by such a catastrophe to their HQ host city? [more inside]
Is there a digital-media/arts-type place in San Francisco that provides access to computers and digital technology - something like The Edge in Brisbane? [more inside]
I want to buy a gift certificate to a day spa for a twenty-something gay man with upscale conservative taste. I'm looking for a place that's sleek, sophisticated and oriented towards men, with good massage and other services, high standards for service and cleanliness, and ideally also offering lunch and cocktails. The kind of place where someone could lounge around all day drinking a mimosa and reading the paper, wearing slippers and a robe. It needs to be in San Francisco proper, not elsewhere in the Bay Area. [more inside]
I will be in Cupertino/San Jose for two weeks starting this Monday. What are some interesting fun things to do when I'm there (besides leaving and going to San Fran)? [more inside]
Single (straight) foreign guy in San Francisco, on his early 30s. What are some good places (watering holes, night clubs) to go people-watching without feeling down on being there alone?
San Francisco Honeymoon. My wife and I are going to San Francisco for the first leg of our honeymoon. Neither of us has ever been there. Where should we stay and what should we do? I don't mind paying $300+ for a hotel room, and would like to be within walking distance of cool things to do. Union Square area? Should we rent a car and drive out to the Muir Woods? Give us a list of places we should go to eat, shop, and people watch. Ride the cable car? Ride it to where? More importantly, looking for a nice hotel in the middle of the action. We will be there from June 7th - 10th.

Can a diehard San Franciscan fall in love with New York? Or at least have a little crush? How can I be the matchmaker? [more inside]
I'm looking for something to do on New Year's Eve in San Francisco, and I've scoured the web to find every possibility, from all night dance parties to upscale black tie affairs, and I have two questions: 1) what exactly is a "no-host bar"? 2) What other options are there, particularly in regards to the bar scene?
