Where should I get a tattoo?

TattooFilter: I live in San Antonio, Texas. I'm going to be in New York for the first week of April. Should I get a tattoo while I'm in New York, or just wait and get one in San Antonio (or Austin)? (Multiple questions inside! I've never gotten a tattoo before!) So, I'm fairly certain I know what I want. Max, from the book Where the Wild Things Are, with a banner that says "MISCHIEF!" The thing is, I want a tattoo artist to redraw Max in his/her specific style, and not try to copy the images from the book. Is this even something a good custom tattoo artist would do?

I'm leaning toward Daniel Santoro at NY Adorned (I found him by reading old tattoo askmes). The thing is, I'm only going to be in New York for a week. Is that enough time to talk to an artist about what I want, have him draw it, and get the tattoo?

I'm open to the possibility of just getting this tattoo closer to home. I live more or less an hour from Austin, so if anyone has any suggestions of tattoo artists over there, that would be fantastic. If anyone has any suggestions for great artists in San Antonio, that would be good too.

I'm excited about getting this tattoo, but I'm also very aware of the fact that it's going to be on me forever, so I want it to be as incredible as possible.

Selling Records

Where can I sell some vinyl records in Austin or San Antonio? I have a stack of records from the late 70s and early 80s that I'm ready to part with, and I've heard there is actually demand for these recently. Any idea where I could sell them in Austin or San Antonio?

Possible move to San Antonio/Austin, what can I expect?

Possible move to San Antonio/Austin, what can I expect? My wife and I are currently in Los Angeles but are considering a move to either San Antonio or Austin. We're in our late 20's, early 30's and are ready to get out of Los Angeles. I work as a web developer and she is a therapist. I'm currently interview for jobs in each city and though I've been to both, it's hard to get an honest feeling for the place without actually living there.

Advantages/Disadvantages of each city?

Commuting between Austin and San Antonio?

How feasible is it to commute between Austin and San Antonio, TX? I just got a great job offer from a company in San Antonio, TX. My significant other (we're pretty much engaged-to-be-engaged) has decided he wants to attend UT-Austin graduate school in the fall. Furthermore, he just can't live without me. He'd also like to live relatively close to campus, since he reasons he'll be keeping non-standard hours. I've never really worked farther than 10 minutes away from home before, and my impression is that traffic in San Antonio is "pretty erratic", especially on the 410 loop.

I'd like to hear from people who have, perhaps, made this commute daily before. What about if we lived in between? (maps.google is showing San Marcos as about a third of the way closer) Will I shortly lose the will to live (as I suspect), or is it a pretty common commute? FWIW, I'm currently living in LA, so I have a pretty high bar for "bad traffic."
