My boyfriend and I are moving to San Francisco for his work. I'm in the middle of a second bachelor's degree in biochemistry/fulfilling premedical requirements. I'd like to enroll at the City College (community college) for a year and then transfer to a university after I've established residency. This will be fine, right? Have I missed anything that might enable a California university to deny me in-state tuition?

So I've lived in beautiful San Francisco, California since 2005, but I've recently started a job down in Sunnyvale. I can take Caltrain down there, but it's an hour's trip plus half an hour on either end to get from home/work to the Caltrain station in question. This is not sustainable, so I'd like to move south. I'm 31, single, and a city boy from way back, so moving to The Suburbs gives me pause. Also, I sold the only car I've ever owned back in '05 shortly after I moved here. So I have two questions:

Get Me Out Of My Travel Rut: My tour takes me to the beatific city of San Fransisco soon and while I visit about once a year, I usually end up going to same places/doing the same things. What's terribly new in SF? What are the fresh must-see shows, restaurants, nightspots, stores, or Things To Do. Ideally I'm looking for things/places that have opened within the year. There's apparently a golf course near San Jose, CA., well it actually may be closer to Milpitas, but it supposedly has half a million trees. I can't seem to find anything about it or if it even exists. This information is coming from my father who played at this course many years ago (maybe 10-20).
