Campervan rental in Las Vegas?

Next March My girlfriend and I are planning a road trip from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City by way of some of the national parks between. The plan is to rent a camper in Vegas and drop it off in Salt Lake City at the end. I've looked, and there's dozens of companies who rent campers. Are there any companies that people can recommend in particular? Any to avoid? Thanks in advance. [more inside]

Where do I buy topo maps in SLC or Moab on a weekend?

Is there a store in Salt Lake City that sells Utahn USGS 7.5 minute topo maps that's open on Saturday? Or, alternatively, a place in Moab that's open on Sunday? For instance, does REI sell topo maps? We're visiting Utah from Vancouver Canada and we don't have enough time to have maps shipped from the USGS, but unfortunately the way things are timed we're going to be passing through SLC and Moab on the weekend. We'll need the maps by Monday morning, otherwise we'd hang around. Any help would be appreciated.

Please help a family of four with an outdoorsy but non-camping trip to the Grand Tetons and Salt Lake City!

Our family of four (Mom, Dad, 2 boys ages 8 & 12) wants to enjoy Yellowstone Park, the Grand Tetons, and possibly shoot down to the Salt Lake City area for about a week in late July 2012. We love the outdoors, but can't bring camping gear. Will we be able to find spontaneous lodging in cheap hotels or cabins for under $100 per night - or do we need to book everything waaay in advance? American West road trip

A buddy and I are going on a road trip starting the 28th of December for 8 days. Our first destination is the Grand Canyon but after that, who knows. Being the anal retentive that I am, I sort of plotted out a route that took us from the GC to Zion then Bryce then Salt Lake City then across upper Nevada to Tahoe. I was wondering, is this too ambitious? Are there cooler things to see or places to visit? How about places to avoid?
