What to ask for as salary?

I'm in contention for a job as a social media marketing and advertising representative at a medium sized music hardware-related company. Basically, I haven't found a great idea of how much I should ask for as far as salary. Additionally, I don't know what else to ask for in this job as I've never held a salaried position in my life. I chose you over 10% more money.

I applied to Company's A and B. After about two weeks of interviews and talking to employees of each, Company A seemed better in nearly all respects. I received informal offers from both yesterday, but Company A specified a salary (which was well within the range I was looking for). I told company B this salary, but an hour or two later learned some things that ruled out company B pretty decisively. This morning Company B calls and offers me 10% more than Company A, and stock options (all other benefits being, afaik, equal). I realize I blew my chance at negotiation, but is there a way I can tactfully mention this to my now-employer, Company A? Could I expect them to offer a bit more, or to consider a raise more readily? HR wants my salary info

Tell them my salary or politely decline? On Friday, I learned about a job opportunity though an ex-colleague who would be my new boss. This person told me they're eager to fill the position and asked what salary I'm looking for. I ducked the salary question and, at their urging, applied online yesterday. Today I get a one-sentence email from an HR rep asking my current salary. I know salary negotiation has been covered on AskMeFi before, but I haven't seen this particular variation. No interview has happened. Doesn't salary talk usually happen later on? I have no idea how much this position pays, benefits, etc.; it could be better or worse than my current gig. The prospective position is grant-funded with a City agency. (Side question: are grant-funded positions risky?)

How to best clarify salary expectations

A friend recently got a job offer, yay! When she spoke with the hiring manager at the time of the initial offer, she was told she'd receive a certain amount of money, with a percentage raise after the first year. But when she received the formal offer letter, the letter specifies only the first year salary, and says nothing about a raise. Should she say something to the hiring manager? Any suggestions on how she might phrase her concerns?

Should I provide a W-2 to a potential new employer?

Should I provide a W-2 to a potential new employer? A job offer was made to me pending a background check. The background check is delayed because my current employer has not replied to the new employer(I do not know why). I was given the option to verify employment using a W-2 form. Do I want to give all of this information to the new employer? I didn't lie about salary but never gave a direct amount. The new job is a 15% increase and I feel like I should not make that obvious to the new employer. If I never stated or lied about a my current salary am I worried about this for no reason? Is 15% going to be perfectly acceptable to them if I am the right candidate?
